A little about me, I have been a mortgage originator for the last 6 yrs and in banking of some sort for the last 11, I do love lending but always wanted to make photography my "real" job. I have loved photography since my sophomore year in high school at Mt Baker when I was shown the most wonderful place on earth, a darkroom! After that I think I spent the majority of my time in there as our yearb
ook photo editor for 2 years. I have kept it as a hobby ever since. I have the amazing opportunity and luck to actually make my passion my job and took the leap a couple years ago. My husband works as a supervisor at BP and I am extremely lucky for this. It has allowed me to be as busy or as slow as our schedule allows. I enjoy taking photographs of all types of events and people. I love seeing a story in still photos, the feeling and emotion in a great photograph. One thing I like about photography is that no matter what there is always going to be a new angle, new style of picture and someone better then me or has a different take or style on what makes a great picture. There is always another level to get to and it will never be boring. While working in banking I always thought “when I grow up maybe this can be my "real" job” How great to work everyday with my true passion. It's wonderful to have a passion and a job that involves my family. My husband likes it, well because he loves sports. He is almost entirely to blame for my love of sports. I figured, after having 2 boys, if you can't beat them join them! Thanks for taking a look at my page. If you have any comments, ideas, input, or anything at all, please email me! Janell Kortlever
