My favorite moment from this session was when we were shooting in the rhododendron forest and a hummingbird swooped in above us, floating around while we captured beautiful moments for these two

Taylor & Sam • Mountaintop Sunset Engagement Session

My first love was shooting landscapes of mountains and sunsets in Virginia’s Blue Ridge. When Taylor and Sam reached out to do an engagement session in one of my all time favorite mountain locations, I basically squealed internally at the opportunity to capture a part of their story in such a meaningful place

I am humbled and grateful for their vulnerability and trust in me to capture sweet moments between the two of them ✨

Taylor and Sam share a quirky and sarcastically joking love, and many moments between the two of them were filled with laughter. Toward the end at sunset on the mountain, I knew this frame would be my all time favorite - sunset, softness, and the safe and warm embrace

My first true love in photography was documenting the wild landscapes that stole my heart and rebuilt my soul.

Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains are, and always will be, integral to my creative journey, my healing journey, and a journey toward self discovery and peace.

How lucky I am that my work as an artist and a lover of the mountains allows me to share that with clients who also find solace and adventure on the mountaintops that I love.

I rode horses for several years when I was younger and I’m always down to work with fellow horse pals on capturing some love for y’all!

I rode a horse at a local barn named Star who was a beautiful chestnut mare with one small white star on her forehead. We spent a few years learning from each other and growing together. Many years later I went back to the farm to see which horses were still there and I got out of the car and Star instantly whinnied at me when she saw me, and ran over for some love and treats 🧡I was amazed and so moved by her remembering me, and I’m grateful I had experiences with riding horses as a kid ✨
