As It Was Photography Previously known as "Steines Photography". Hi! I’m Sara! I love to laugh and have a good time with my given and chosen family.

I have a crazy beautiful obsession with squirrels, Hanson (yes, THAT Hanson!), wine, motorcycles, my human daughter, my doghter (Stella!), and my beardfully handsome hubby….Oh, and french fries. You’ll often find me on the back of one of my hubby’s motorcycles or riding shotgun in our ‘77 station wagon. That’s what life’s all about anyways, right?! Live, laugh and love. ;)

Being a mom is, without a doubt, the greatest gift life can give. There is nothing in this world that compares to the love you feel for your child — the kind of love that completely changes your heart forever. Watching them grow, hearing their laugh, holding them close after a hard day, celebrating every little milestone… it’s pure magic.

And somehow, the only thing that makes it even more special is getting to share it all with your own mom. There’s something so beautiful about watching the woman who loved and raised you pour that same love into your child. Suddenly, you understand her sacrifices, her worries, her endless patience, and the depth of a mother’s love in a whole new way. 🥰

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms out there. You're doing amazing.

Trust me, mama — do it. Get your kids and their bestie all dressed up or let then pick out whatever they want to wear, let them be goofy, and capture it professionally.

Because one day, they won’t be spending every weekend together building forts or trading snacks — they’ll be teenagers, then adults. And those photos? They’ll be priceless. 💕

We take family photos, school photos, even holiday minis… but a best friend photoshoot? That’s childhood, frozen in time.

Let them laugh, pose, and make silly faces. You’ll be so glad you did. 🥹

SHUT THE ACTUAL FK UP.**
Kent & Elizabeth just pulled off the most wildly joyful, heart-burstingly fun wedding I’ve ever had the honor of photographing. My cheeks hurt. My abs hurt. And my heart? Bursting wide open from witnessing their insanely beautiful love.

It was a stunning backyard wedding straight out of a dream—warm breeze, golden light, and the kind of vibes that make you believe in magic. The love? Ridiculous. The energy? Off the charts. The people? A+ humans across the board.

Kent & Elizabeth, you two beautifully radiant humans—I love you forever. 10/10 would time travel just to shoot this day again.
