The one where Kelsey gets engaged!💍

Kelsey is my second shooter.

Which, if you know us, means she is also my emergency wedding-day therapist, professional enabler, occasional voice of reason (always), and one of my favorite people to spend 12 hours in a field with while carrying approximately 47 pounds of camera equipment.

Plot twist: Kelsey is also my husband’s cousin.

Bigger plot twist: somewhere along the way, she stopped being my husband’s cousin and became one of my actual best friends.

Even bigger plot twist: she is now marrying one of our best friends.

So basically, what started as “oh cool, my husband’s cousin” has evolved into we work together, hang out together, vacation together, know entirely too much about each other, and somehow all ended up in the same giant friend group.

Very normal. Very healthy. Very Friends.

And now I get to add “photographing her engagement” to the list of things I get to do with one of my favorite people. 🥹

Kels, I’m so freaking happy for you. You found yourself a pretty damn good one, and I’m so excited that you get to officially become part of the chaos. 🤍

Anyway.

I’ve been shooting like a mad woman lately with a day off finally in sight at the end of the month 😅 I’m currently sitting at a 6-week turnaround, and that will likely be bumped to 8 weeks as I work my way through the editing log. Wedding galleries are currently running 8–10 weeks.

I’m officially booked through September, with a handful of limited October dates still available!

So if you need me, I’ll be right here… trying to stay on top of this editing queue and single-handedly keeping Red Bull in business 😂🫶🏼

A few dreamy moments from Katie + Blake Heeren’s wedding day at The Pines Weddings & Events 🖤

There are weddings that are beautiful, and then there are weddings that simply feel like magic. From the soft light to the quiet moments in between, this day was one I’ll be thinking about for a long time.

I also had the opportunity to work alongside KGE Photography , a photographer I’ve followed for years and someone who’s been in the industry just as long as I have. It was such a fun experience getting to create together after admiring his work from afar for so long.

I’ve been running at full speed for the last month…photoshoots almost every evening, editing every day, and trying my best to stay on top of emails. If you’ve been waiting to hear back from me, thank you so much for your patience!

I am officially booked through August and September for regular sessions, but I will have daytime studio availability during school hours beginning in September, so keep that in mind if you’ve been hoping to get on my calendar.

This has been my busiest season yet, and I honestly can’t put into words how grateful I am for every single one of you. ❤️ Now if I could just find enough time to do the dishes… 😮‍💨😂

For years, I’ve increased my prices just a little at a time. This year, I finally brought them to where I feel they truly reflect the value of my work and the experience I provide. My hope is that I won’t need to keep making annual increases.

Instead, I’d rather offer seasonal specials and limited-time promotions like I have over the last year. That gives me the flexibility to fill slower seasons while also making my work more accessible for those who may be waiting for the right opportunity to book.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business. Every session allows me to keep doing what I love, and I truly don’t take that for granted. ❤️

As a Midwest photographer, a lot of my portfolio naturally reflects the demographics around me — so getting to photograph Sandra & Prince and create something this stunning had me over the moon 😍

The love, the anticipation for their baby, the style, the connection… all of it was perfection. These two are effortlessly gorgeous, and I already know their sweet babe is going to be just as beautiful 🖤

Just a tiny glimpse into this gorgeous senior session because narrowing down favorites was nearly impossible. Between golden light, wildflowers, downtown corners, and wandering wherever the evening took us… this one felt like summer in the best way. ☀️

I’m so excited for another season of late summer nights with my seniors — creating magic, chasing light, getting a little lost in the fields, and capturing this once-in-a-lifetime season before the next chapter begins.

And somehow… summer sessions before school starts are almost fully booked already (yes, I know school literally just got out 😅). If you’ve been thinking about booking your senior session, now’s the time before the calendar disappears. 🤍

New logo? Maybe. Midlife brand crisis? Also maybe. 😂

I never actually rebranded after getting married nearly a decade ago, so we’re just out here winging it at this point. I may drop the original name in the future, but this new one goes beyond just me. I threw in some favorite images I’ve personally taken — some old, some new — and honestly these don’t even scratch the surface. Looking through years of work has me feeling all sentimental and also slightly concerned about how many galleries I’ve edited in my lifetime. 👵

Busy season officially hit me like a freight train. June + July are nearly FULL and I’ve got weddings every weekend until the 4th of July. And before anyone asks… NO, I will not last-minute photograph diddly squat over that weekend. I’ll be somewhere avoiding responsibility and probably holding a drink. 🇺🇸😂

Emails will continue to be slow (HELP) and I’ll keep screening calls that aren’t recognized or come with vague voicemails. Most pricing info is online and I simply do not possess the emotional stamina to spend 8 hours a day on the phone unless it comes with a live-in housemaid and assistant.

Anyway, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. I’m ridiculously excited for all the upcoming shoots and I’ll be wrapping up + delivering April galleries soon. Appreciate you all more than you know. 🤍
