Hi friends, this is a post I really didn’t want to make, but it’s been a long time coming. After 10 years, I’m officially (semi) retiring from photography. Let’s take a walk down memory lane.
I started this whole photography thing when I was 15, by accident, taking a film photography elective. At a time when I felt like I was drowning, it became a way to express myself and find solace in my art. Over the years, it has morphed into something completely unrecognizable and beautiful, a journey I never could have imagined.
I’ve been so blessed to capture weddings, engagements, and so many once-in-a-lifetime moments. Photography has given me joy, peace, comfort, and a creative outlet I will always be grateful for. But with school, work, and life all happening at once, I’ve had to be honest with letting things go that are just adding to my plate, and it is time to let this chapter close. I may come back to this one day, but for now, I need to focus on what is calling my attention in this season of my life.
To my fellow photographers, I will still be available for limited associate work and second shooting, but I will not be taking on my own bookings anymore. I wish I could tag every single photographer I have met who has changed me, shaped me, or become near and dear to my heart, but the list would be a mile long. You know who you are. 🤍
Thank you to every client, every friend, and everyone who has been part of this photography journey with me. I have met so many incredible people through this community, and I am forever grateful.
And don’t worry, I will still be yapping on my stories like usual, and will probably start sharing more of my own life when it feels right.
Thank you, and goodbye for now. 🖤
