Grandparent & Me Family Film Sessions arenโ€™t photo shoots. Theyโ€™re a chance for kids and grandparents to laugh, talk and capture a conversation theyโ€™ll be able to play and replay for years.

Kids choose 3โ€“5 fun questions, I guide and film their 15โ€“20 minute conversation, and the family receives a professionally edited digital Family Film.

When our kids were little, I gave each of them a spiral notebook.

They would write questions for Grandma or Grandpa, then pass the notebook back and forth between them. Sometimes Grandma even added photographs to help tell the story.

Looking through these notebooks now, I realize they captured more than their grandparentsโ€™ stories.

They also captured our children at that exact stage of life: their handwriting, their curiosity and the special relationship they shared with their grandparents.

What if we could have captured all of that on film?

The children asking questions in their own little voices. Grandma and Grandpa answering in theirs. The smiles, laughter and looks exchanged between them.

Thatโ€™s the heart behind the new Grandparent & Me Mini Sessions Iโ€™m working on at Coffee with Clyde.

Yesterday, I spent the day listening to stories of service, family, hardship, humor and moments that changed lives.

1). A man in his 80s shared how he was born with a hole in his heart and as a very young child, became very sick and his parents expected him to pass away. An uncle was serving in the army, and told them about a new experimental drug to try. The parents agreed, gave their son this drug and he lived! The drug? PENICILLIN!

2). One woman shared how her life started out - by being left as an infant. Her story of overcoming the odds was simply incredible and I can't wait to hear more!

3). A genealogist told me about the remarkable family history she uncoveredโ€”her ancestors served in the American Revolution and she also learned the story of her great-grandmother who was captured and raised within the Cherokee Nation.

Seriously, I have a great imagination, but there's NO WAY I can make up these stories!

Reese is an Air Force EOD veteran, Purple Heart recipient, and member of the USA Patriots softball team.

Behind every player on this field is a story of sacrifice, resilience, and continuing to live life fully.
