23/52 The other day I was looking at one of my favorite wedding photographers Wedding Photographer and analyzing certain shots where he tells the story of his clients sooo wonderfully and does such a good job of making the clients look so good with big scenes surrounding them if that makes sense? Like they are small but the view is so big and yet they pull your eye to them and it’s both big and small and powerful. I want to do more photos like this but sometimes feel like my clients get lost in the photo like they are too tiny…. Then I was looking through my work and came to this photo while I don’t know if it’s quite an equivalent to me it gave me that same feeling. This day was soo perfect they gave themselves so much time to be together and then the amount of deep love they had for the people close to them was inspiring. I haven’t done as many weddings this year. With my kids and life this ebb and flow between different types of photography has been lovely and good. But when I think of this day and their story it feels me with so much joy and reminds me why I love capturing weddings sooo much!!!! 22/52 ***Read the whole post for an announcement about my business practices!

I keep being drawn to this in between moment. Cousins running and enjoying time together as they escaped a little of the posed moments I’d been directing! I think often a good session has a few of these moments mixed in! And they make me so happy!

***I also feel like it’s a good time to share a decision I’ve made for my business! Going forward I will no longer be posting the full face of children (I may post the sides of their faces or them looking away) on my page! With the evolving world of ai I want to do my part to keep you and your family safe! I will also give you the option for me to not post your family at all if that aligns with you and your loved ones. Just let me know and I’m so happy to respect that. I deeply wish this wasn’t the world we lived in, in regard to technology. 19/52 Taylor + Joe I cannot believe this was a whole year and a day ago! You are one of the kindest couples and amazing parents and I’m just sooo honored I got to capture this day for you two incredible humans. I don’t usually do anniversary posts, because I’m kinda bad at this social media thing. But I was in bed last night and like oh my gosh it’s there anniversary!!!! 15/52 Last year I got to second shoot this wedding for Ricki Lee Scheef it was such an incredibly beautiful day in one of my favorite spots in Colorado!

I was scrolling through photos the other day to find something from our time in Birmingham and couldn’t believe how many incredible memories filled 2022. It makes me really miss that season!

But I also came across these! I loved this wedding this couple and all the vendors from that day! 🤍 The florals that day were breathtaking and remain the back ground on my iPad 😂!
