In a world of AI "creators", I am finding that I am constantly having to defend my process and prove the legitimacy of my works.

Sadly, I don't see this changing any time soon, and it breaks my heart to see people lose their creativity and talents to a system of prompts and shortcuts.

Took a short break from spring calving to attend the Western Spirit Art Show and Sale reception at the ! What a wonderful evening full of beautiful art and fabulous people! I’m grateful to share that I received both the Eric Wellman Nature Photographer Award and a Judges’ Choice Award for two of my photographs in the Professional Photographers of Nebraska non-annual print competition last fall.

I’m very thankful to PPofN for the recognition and for the supportive community it continues to foster.

I wasn’t able to attend the conference banquet this year to receive them in person, so I need to give a sincere thank you to those of you who took the time to bring my awards home to me after the conference — that kindness truly means a lot.

We’re excited to announce the 45th Annual Western Spirit Juried Art Show & Sale! A beloved spring tradition, this show brings together over 100 artists and features more than 240 works of art, including 60 miniature artworks. From watercolor to bronze, the incredible variety and talent on display make this the art event of the season. You won’t want to miss it!

Celebrate opening night with us on Saturday, March 7. Museum members enjoy discounted tickets and an exclusive early look at the artwork, with doors opening at 5:00 pm for members and 6:00 pm for non-Museum member guests.

Earlier that day, join us for our Western Art Seminar on Saturday, March 7 from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This seminar is a great opportunity for professional development and networking, and tickets include breakfast and lunch. More information coming soon!
