Pour la première fois, l'Algarve a reçu le prix de la meilleure destination balnéaire au monde dans le cadre des World Travel Awards 2020.

Après avoir reçu cette distinction au niveau européen, l'Algarve a battu la concurrence du monde entier pour être couronnée meilleure destination balnéaire, devançant 18 autres nominés qui comprenaient des destinations aux Maldives, en Thaïlande, en Jamaïque, au Mexique et aux États-Unis.

"C'est avec une immense fierté que la région reçoit ce prix pour la première fois au niveau mondial, et aussi une énorme responsabilité, qui nous oblige à continuer à travailler constamment, pour élever les standards de l'offre touristique de notre destination" a déclaré João Fernandes, président de Turismo do Algarve.

Les World Travel Awards correspondent aux Oscars dans l'industrie du tourisme mondial.
