Every April, we recognize how incredible and resilient military children are 💜
Like dandelions, they bloom wherever the winds carry them. No matter how many times they are uprooted, they find a way to grow again—stronger, braver, and more beautiful each time. Their strength isn’t loud, but it runs deep. It’s found in the quiet courage of starting over, the bravery of walking into new classrooms, and the resilience of saying goodbye to the people and places they love.
Military children learn early what it means to hold on and let go at the same time. They learn that home isn’t just a place—it’s the people beside you. They build friendships that feel like family, and they show up for each other in ways that are truly special.
I am so incredibly proud of these children. I’ve watched them create a community out of constant change. I’ve seen them comfort one another through hard moments, celebrate the good, and stand strong through the goodbyes that never seem to get easier. And yet, they keep going—with strength, with grace, and with so much heart.
A few fun facts about military children:
• There are nearly 2 million children of service members in Active Duty, National Guard, and Reserves—and about 2 million more children of post-9/11 veterans
• Military kids move 6–9 times during their school years on average
• They are about twice as likely as their civilian peers to serve in the military as adults
• Through constant change, they develop resilience, adaptability, and a deep sense of empathy
They remind us that strength can be gentle, courage can be quiet, and even in constant change, something beautiful can always grow. 💜
