I've been taking family portraits of some of my clients for over 10 years and it has been fun to watch their children grow. But this family is very special to me. I've been lucky enough to be there from the very beginning. Engagement, Wedding, Maternity and now Family portraits. Thank you so much for letting me document your relationship and all the ways your love has grown over the years.

I have a dilemma. Technology...I don't know whether to love it or hate it.
I took this picture with my client's cell phone. Instantly perfect exposure and white balance with the touch of a button. Meanwhile, with my 10lb manual DSLR I have to fiddle with the shutter-speed and f-stop to get the right exposure and then I STILL have to do post production editing in photoshop to make it look like this picture. Sure, the resolution is better with the DSLR, but I'm sure cell phone camera technology will catch up soon. I'm absolutely amazed at how far digital camera technology has come since I first started shooting. But I'm scared that soon I won't be booked for shoots because anyone can get a great photo now with just a cell phone! hahaha! Maybe that just means I won't have to lug my heavy equipment to shoots when I'm old and arthritic. I'll just use a cell phone.

I have one question for you...Once you leave this world, will your children and loved ones be able to look back at old photos or are they all locked away in your phone and computer? Consider printing or giving family members digital copies.

Life doesn't come with the guarantee that there will always be sunshine and rainbows.
This was especially evident when it unexpectedly rained on a day that I had been booked for a sunset portrait session. We decided to push through anyway and the end result was that you can still find beauty on the dark and stormy days. Such is life.
