Creating a mix of environmental portrait & headshots to make sure we get every detail of this gorgeous look! This was achieved with the sharp details of my Sony camera and the super versatile 24-105. Paired with a poeerful location light balanced with the natural light so that we create sharp, beautiful contrasts that really make this look POP!

Seeing this outfit come to life was so amazing! Over a month ago I was at in Red Lodge figuring out looks for the Western Portrait Experience with . I wanted to make sure every detail of the event was authentic and true to Montana lifestyle. Heidi absolutely did not disappoint with styling this look, along with the backup options she had supplied just in case. was the perfect model for this look as well!

Where do I even start????! and put a lot of trust in me to host a portrait workshop with them, and I'm so glad they did. I am forever grateful to .hawk , , and for getting me involved with our local camera store. I taught the basics of studio and off camera flash and let everyone have hands-on practice with our models. Niah taught us how to "Look for the Light" with both continuous LEDs and natural light. The early access special with was FULL and full of wonderful women with creative visions! This was Sony Alpha Females first joint event with a camera store workshop, so we made some history!

You all proved to us that you're eager to learn new things, connect with other creatives, and support our local community. The photos that have been pouring in from everyone have been phenomenal to see and share.

All of my photos I took with my

Sony A7IV
With the 28-70mm f/2 GM from the lens bar.

My light is the
Flashpoint XPLOR 600 SE from with a 36" softbox.

The reflector is a 5-in-1 medium sized used mostly on the white side to fill in shadows.

If I could ask one thing from all of you, is that you go and support . While spending the day in the store with them, I learned a lot about the incredible things they can do from repairs, cleanings, firmware updates, special orders, discounts only available with them, and just how passionate Marshall is about his store, employees, customers, and overall quality of care. The value they provide is unmatched. More importantly, when you choose to shop with them, not only are you receiving personalized customer service, but you're supporting a small local business who PAYS his employees a living wage, IN BOZEMAN!!! (Yes, Marshall really does care THAT much about the quality of life and the knowledge his employees bring) On top of that, the more you support Bozeman Camera, the more we can have incredible events like this. We see you. Sony sees us. Let's continue this momentum and show them how incredible Montana really is!!! 🔥🔥

Thank you to everyone!!!

Went around downtown taking photos with my new XPLOR 600 SE. I ordered this light for the Sony Western Portrait Experience I'm teaching with Bozeman Camera, but I had to take it for a colorful test spin first. 🎨

I asked to model for it. We had nooooo vision or plan and ended up just stuffing a bunch of clothes into some bags, leaving the studio in search of the cool graffiti and mural walls. We must've been an interesting pair to see walking down the street. She's dressed in clothes she wouldn't normally wear, and I'm slinging a huge light over my shoulder. I'd say it was 1000000% worth it because this look is only one of the sets we shot! 😱 and I'm in love with the colors & textures!!

This set was shot & lit with:

Camera/settings
A7IV with 24-105mm
1/250 - f/9.0 - ISO 100

Light
Flashpoint XPLOR 600 SE
36" light dome

If you're curious about this light, I'm going to have it at the Sony Western Portrait Experience so you can play with it and ask questions! April 25th at 1pm. Link in my bio to register 🤠

Went to visit my hometown, Helena, and last minute called up to see if she was available for a western shoot in my old stomping grounds in honor of my upcoming portrait event with Bozeman Camera and Sony (link is down below) It's super rare that I shoot natural light, and it's even more rare that I'm outside of my studio for sessions. Of course I had picked a cold windy day, but we muscled through it. This location is close to my childhood home, in a field that never failed to fuel my wonder and imagination. Can you blame me? Just swipe through and look at the views!

I'm a minimalist with gear, shooting these on my go-to

Had such a fun and laid back time taking these bo***ir photos for !! We had a few different looks planned out from this soft and light look to dark and dramatic.

We wanted the feel of relaxing at home with sunlight pouring into the room, and some playful, flirty looks. We got this with a continuous light behind the curtains, and a large reflector bouncing light back towards her. We created moments that felt candid, and others that felt alluring ✨️
