The last year and some change has been INTENSE, to say the least! I’ve had some really amazing freelance jobs as well as an intense day job for the majority of the last year. Marketing photography has kind of been my day job for the last year and I am not mad about it. I am about to start a new job in Salem that I’m very excited about and looking forward to a fresh start. Here’s some of my fave photos of the last year. Truly there’s too many to share!

This fall, I had the privilege to capture the special day of these two wonderfully sweet and talented women. They had the most magical wedding ceremony in a Butterfly Sanctuary! Seriously these are some of the most beautiful ceremony photos ever! The love in this place was palatable. These two have such a wonderful group of folks around them and I am blessed to be welcomed in like I was. I made new friends that day 🥰

Blessed Samhain - Feliz Dia de los Mu***os! ⚰️💐🪦This time of year the veil between the dead and the living is very thin and we should be listening and watching for messages from our ancestors and dead family members. I’ve always have been and always will be fascinated with death and the paranormal. I have been wanting to do a ghostly shoot like this forever. I’ve also been wanting to work with for forever. We finally got together and created some truly ghoulish magic in the cemetery. Stay tuned for more cemeterymagic soon! ✨

Mel (they/them) & Kelsey (she/her) 😍 I am always so honored to photograph long time friend’s special moments. Mel and I met nearly a decade ago at Queereoke and have been friends since! I’ve loved watching Mel come into themselves and find the absolute love of their life. Kelsey is one hell of a gem! 💎She had secretly planned with me to propose to Mel during this already set engagement shoot (Mel had proposed months earlier and also wanted to get proposed too) and the look on Mel’s face when she knelt down with that ring was absolutely priceless. I couldn’t be happier for this adorable couple. They tie the knot next October!

“I recently quit my job to keep doing it full-time. It felt increasingly ridiculous to try and squash myself into this hole I knew I would never fit into. Not that comedy is going to save the world, but the realization that if I can do something I actually like for money or at least doesn't make me want to have a panic attack or die, then I will have more brain space to do projects I care about that actually help people.

Deconstructing traditional ideas of success has been huge. Turns out, I don't need to compare myself to others!? I've been trying to change my ideas around success being something that someone else can give you. It's a question of, am I happy? To enjoy my life is a good measure of success. I would never have quit my job if I didn't figure out having five freelance projects and hanging out in my living room is having a good time; if that is happiness for me, then that is good.” -

“The q***r community attempts to define butchness and in that process, creates different pressures and partitions….We fail when we rigidify what butchness means and further reinforce arbitrary binaries that were thrust onto us by a world that wasn’t ready for us.

I have felt and been made to feel like a failed butch by people on all ends of the spectrum because I can be extremely flamboyant in my mannerisms sometimes and in the way I dance, even though my presentation is seen as masculine. But I feel so wholly feminine and masculine at the same time, with different moments for each to shine. I am both carhartt camo work pants AND strutting the dancefloor to “sissy that walk”, all wrapped into one. I am not butch in relation to anyone else or any given standard….I am butch in the way I know myself and I know what that means to me.

So how do we succeed?

We succeed when we allow butch people to define their gender presentation and identities for themselves, and make space for flexibility and expressions of femininity within butchness.

We succeed when we open butchness up so that it can encompass all of us who are well… butch. There is so much joy and freedom in q***rness and butchness, and we and all the folks who love us deserve to live in that joy and freedom every day.”

2022 has been a wild ride so far to say the least. There’s been a lot of bad and a lot of good. However, the correct balance hasn’t always been there. Right now, I’m in a better place mentally than I have been in the last year. A whole lot of bad happened for me to get to this good place though. I started new jobs and seriously deepened my craft (the witch kind) and have gone into myself. It’s really lonely to realize a lot of things about yourself and your life but it’s almost always for the best to realize those things. I am ready for this spring and summer and all the newness it has to offer.
This photo is from June 2021 while I was waiting for a client in my studio.
It’s about time for me to create some new self portraits which I will be focusing on as the seasons change.
