I guess we all have come to consider Jean-luc Goddard the master of Cinema Noir. This was probably my first photo assignment, to do set photography on a Jean-luc Goddard film. The photos were used in a montage at the end of the film You can stream it on Netflix, youtube, etc.. I’m not sure if this shot of goddard is my own, but the rest of the set are definitely mine, and were the first pictures in my portfolio. There are many more..and I will publish them soon.
it was an amazing experience to start my career on a Goddard set, not an easy task. Perhaps my best take away was that he was hands on. He moved the camera, set up his shots, he was not just a director, but an image maker. There are legendary directors that operate the camera, but few. A lot of respect for his fluidity, and his ability to choose the most iconic and of his generation.
