A little OCMD inlet ... too bad these aren't scratch n sniff photos ... The Original Thrasher's French Fries and Dolle's Candyland were sending out all the yummy boardwalk smells.

This is the Beacon of Hope, by sculptor Wesley Wofford.
13 feet and meaningful easter eggs ...

Reaching Hand: The adult Tubman is actively reaching down to physically pull her younger self up from the ground and shackles. In her hand is the key to freedom.

The Head Injury Scar: A small detail on the young Araminta Ross (Tubman's childhood name) replicates the heavy two-pound metal weight that struck her young forehead.

The Oxen Yoke: At the base, an oxen yoke rests near the shackles, visually embodying the heavy burden of institutionalized slavery.

The Star Compass Hand: Her hand is shaped as a star compass, honoring how she used the North Star to navigate her own escape and later became a guiding light for others.

The piles of shackles and chains depict all of the lives adversely affected by slavery. The open shackles represent those whom she freed, and the closed ones represent those left behind, as well as the work that still is to be done to achieve true American equality.

The Miss Brittney and Valerie Dean in Chincoteague,loading horseshoe crabs up to take them back to the water. They are collected early morning, taken to a medical facility where their blood is drawn, the crabs are scrubbed clean and taken back to their home.
As usual Saltwater Pony Tours gave a nice ride. Even through the smoke and haze and few ponies, still pretty scenery.
