A few selects from today’s events at People’s Park in Berkeley, Calif., January 4, 2024

Large shipping containers were places around the perimeter of People’s Park today in a new plan to empty the space before beginning construction for future housing.

As construction crews worked to place the shipping containers throughout the day, demonstrators gathered outside of the police perimeter protesting the closure of the park.

As global leaders descend for APEC on San Francisco, some city leaders organized the perfect LGBTQ friendly party: GAYPEC

Castro District night club Beaux was host to the LGBTQ friendly event GAYPEC, put together but several city officials including City Supervisor for the Castro District Rafael Mandleman and SF Mayor London Breed’s office.

Following remarks by Mandleman, Assembly Member Evan Low and and California State Senator Scott Weiner, drag queens Khmera Rouge and Ehra Amaya took the stage for two performances.

US President Joe Biden and China’s leader Xi Jinping were just a few of the world leaders arriving in San Francisco for the event on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023. Been doing a lot of portraits lately for different clients.

It’s always tricky when you do something a lot to not get stuck in a rut or feel repetitive, so I’m always trying to find new ways to approach a portrait for each of my clients. I’m really happy with these but I definitely want to keep pushing the envelope and find more ways to create a portrait.

So grateful to for bringing me in to photograph both the rehearsal and opening night performance of Kaija Saariaho’s opera Adriana Mater last month.
