This was all done in-camera. No photoshop! No AI! It’s a four light setup with a prism filter attached to the end of my lens for blur, and an optical snoot for the blinds/sliver effect on the model’s face. We shot multiple looks, some with the optical snoot & blur. This series was shot in front of a Primary Red seamless colored background from Savage Universal () using four different DigiBees from Paul C. Buff () with blue colored gels attached and all independently controlled with The Raven from (). One of the DigiBee strobes had an optical snoot attached with a blue colored gel and a “blinds” and “slot” gobo used as the keylight, and all shot with my Nikon Z6ii from ().

I love creative shoots, and this EP cover shoot with artist Prince Gemin! was so fun and creative! Prince creates music which has influences from R&B and Alternative Rock, and this concept was for his new EP “High at the Disco” which drops TODAY! For the EP cover art, we did a mix of hypercolor at my studio in Berkeley, along with some motion blur that was all done in-camera (not Photoshop) by leaving the shutter open 1.3 seconds in total and having Prince stay very still as I moved. I really loved the creative concept that Prince envisioned, and the motion blur hitting his mask created a beautiful almost “galaxy” effect on that first shot! Lighting was a four light setup with four different DigiBees with assorted colored gels from Paul C. Buff () independently controlled with The Raven from (). Had a separate green and gold kicker lights along with a gold keylight and optional strobe with a snoot hitting just his mask. Shot these with my Nikon Z6ii () in front of a black seamless backdrop from Savage Universal ().
