I’ve been putting off this post for quite some time now, but since I just delivered my last wedding of the summer, it seems like perfect timing.
It is with a heavy heart, and after much thought and consideration that I am announcing that I will be taking an indefinite leave of absence from photography. It has been an incredibly hard decision that has been over a year in the making, and having to say goodbye to a business that I have poured my heart and soul into for the past decade is definitely bittersweet.
It has been my absolute joy and pleasure to witness your families grow, and I am honored that you have trusted me with capturing your photos over the past 10 years. Thank you so very much to each and every couple, family, and parent that allowed me to be a part of your family’s memories, and to preserve a piece of your family heritage. You have each brought immense joy to my life. It is that privilege, and those beautiful interactions with each of you, that I will miss the most! I appreciate you all and look forward to watching your families grow and reach treasured milestones in the future.
I’m not going anywhere. I’ll still be all over social media, posting crazy things my kids say, salty memes, and ‘loving’ it when you post family photos. I just desperately need to take a step back from photography for now and put my health and my family first.

Some FAQs:
Q: What about my album/prints/gallery?
A: ALBUMS – If you have an outstanding wedding album with me, I will be contacting you shortly to finalize your design and get it ordered/delivered.
PRINTS – Your photos have always included a ‘Personal Print Release’ which gives you permission to print photos wherever/whenever you’d like. I will still always recommend mpix.com for high quality prints. If you need something specialized or suggestions, I’m always available and happy to help.
GALLERY – Your online gallery is guaranteed by ‘PASS’ for 10 years from the posting date. You should have also downloaded all of your photos and are storing them in multiple locations (if you’re not, take care of that TODAY. Please note that I will most likely no longer be able to retrieve archived sessions, so archiving your photos is your responsibility.)
Q: What about all of my friends getting married that I've been referring to you?
A: Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the recommendation. It is because of clients like you that I have been able to do what I love for the past 10 years. As I continue to get referrals, I am graciously passing them on to my partner in crime, Corrie Childers Weddings. She has been by my side for almost HALF of this journey, picking up the slack when I couldn’t walk, or squat, or, or, or.... Our shooting style has virtually become one in the same as we’ve shot over 40 weddings together over the past 3 years. I am even hoping to be able to second shoot with her on occasion in the coming years.
*** One caveat – if I shot your wedding, and one of your family members/bff is getting married, then I would be MORE than happy to take a little break from retirement and shoot your/their wedding/special occasion for you. I feel like a part of the family when I shoot a wedding, so when your little sister gets married, OF COURSE I want to be there and capture it for them!
Q: Are you selling any of your gear?
A: Yes!! I’m hoping to put together a post soon, but yes, I’m selling a LOT of stuff. I will have a Nikon D700, Nikon lenses, Sigma lenses, Flashes/stands, bags, moneymaker harness, reflectors, newborn props, etc. In the meantime, email me [email protected]
