Matthew 25:
The the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. The five who were foolish didn't take enough olive oil for their lamps, but the other five were wise enough to take along extra oil. When the bridegroom was delayed, they all became drowsy and fell asleep. At midnight they were roused by the shout, "Look, the bridegroom is coming! Come out and meet him!" All the bridesmaids got up and prepared their lamps. Then the five foolish ones asked the others, "Please give us some of your oil because our lamps are going out." But the others replied, "We don't have enough for all of us. Go to a shop and buy some for yourselves." But while they were gone to buy oil, the bridegroom came. Then those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was locked. Later, when the other five bridesmaids returned, they stood outside, calling, "Lord, Lord! Open the door for us! But He called back, "Believe me, I don't know you!" So you, too, must keep watch! for you do not know the day or hour of my return.

After feeling angry for a few days about my recent life circumstances, mostly a multitude of small inconveniences, I finally admitted to myself and God that I am spiritually exhausted. I finally gave up on trying to fix it on my own and submitted it completely to God. I opened my Bible back up immediately to His word for me today.

Hebrews 4:1-11
God’s promise of entering his rest still stands, so we ought to tremble with fear that some of you might fail to experience it. For this good news- that God has prepared this rest - has been announced to us, just as it was to them. But it did them no good, because they didn’t share the faith of those who listened to God for only we who believe can enter his rest as for the others, God said, in my anger, I took an oath: they will never enter my place of rest. Even though this rest has been ready since he made the world, we know it is ready because of the place in the Scriptures, where it mentions the seventh day. On the seventh day God rested from all his work. But in the other passage, God said, they will never enter my place of rest. So gods rest is there for people to enter, but those who first heard this good news failed to enter, because they disobey God. So God set another time for entering his rest, and that time is today. God announced this through David much later in the words already quoted: today, when you hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts. Now if Joshua had succeeded in giving them this rest, God would not have spoken about another day of rest still yet to come so there is a special rest, still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did, after creating the world. So let us do our best to enter that rest. But if we disobey God as the people of Israel did, we will fall.
