Something that I have recently learned:
Hurt can be holy. It may not seem like it in the moment you are hurting, but that hurt can be set apart for the service of God. I don’t know about you, but when I hurt I tend to try to get through it on my own and look to other superficial things to put my trust in. With me doing this, I am allowing Satan to win and am not trusting God in the fact that He will heal me. I also tend to invalidate my feelings and emotions through hurt as well instead of realizing that the emotions I’m feeling are in fact valid and it’s okay to feel that way, but within that I need to rely on God through my feelings. Whatever happened to make me feel that way, I need to entrust up to the Lord for He is the only one who has the strength and power to take on the hurt and I can’t do it alone. Whenever we rely on God, it builds our relationship with Him.
Through the hurt we are experiencing, it is important to remember that God is faithful and has always been faithful. It’s important to remember how God has delivered you in the past and how He has gotten you through. It also important to remind yourself daily that not only has He delivered you in the past, but He WILL deliver you again in the right now and in the future. When you believe that God is going to heal your heart and your hurt, in the end it glorifies God.
Hurt will come, but it is not something to be ashamed of. You are NOT alone! If we let Him, God will use our hurt for His glory and bring joy to our life; it will bring us closer to Him.
It is highly important to be aware of your own feelings and hurt as well as those who surround you. Be a sister, a brother, or a friend to those who are in your community and who you do life with. Everyone is struggling with their own hurt and it’s important that we check up on each other and be intentional about it.
