LIL' SEBASTIAN AND WINNI HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING! They are currently on a foster-to-adopt trial with parents that were over the moon when they met them. I can't express my happiness for these two right now, for all four of them! They've waited for the right people to come along and now they get to live their best lives and be free of their annoying foster parents, haha! Be good, sweet babies. Foster mom and dad love you very much ❤

Ginormous thank you to Kristi with Haven Animal Rescue for suggesting that I post them in local cat and dog groups...that's exactly how they got seen!! Small animal rescues don't get nearly as much visibility as cats and dogs do, we need to change that. Hops & Co has LOTS of small animals that are still waiting for their forever homes, too. I'm sure a new foster will arrive at our home sometime in July, so be on the lookout 😉

Big week for these two: got groomed today...SO. MUCH. HAIR (will probably have to brush them again on Friday). Getting their nails trimmed tomorrow. Then meeting potential adopters on Saturday. Send them lots of good vibes and love!

Believe it or not, but Memorial Day weekend of 2024 is when we brought our first fosters home. Crazy to think that it's been two years since we started fostering, it's brought me so much joy, new experiences and laughter and I wouldn't change a thing.

To celebrate, I redid Seb and Win's bios, hoping to get them seen and adopted! Below is a shortened version:

Meet Winnifred (“Winni”) & Lil’ Sebastian:

This adorable bonded pair of Polish rabbits have been searching for their forever home since October 2025. Both spent the first part of their lives living in wire cages, but since being rescued, they’ve been learning how wonderful life can be in a loving home.

Winni (4 years old, just under 3lbs) is outgoing, curious, and always on the move. She loves exploring, solving enrichment toys, and reminding her foster mom when breakfast is late.

Sebastian (3½ years old, around 3lbs) is a shy but sweet boy who has gained so much confidence since bonding with Winni. He loves morning zoomies, enrichment activities, and grooming his wife.

Both buns are (almost) litter box trained, get along great with cats, and would thrive in a patient home that will continue helping them blossom.

I'm all up in my feels about the buns today. I love them so much, but sometimes I wonder what else I could be doing to get them adopted? I know another foster mom had her black bun for almost 2 years and that makes me so sad! Dogs and cats are so much more popular as pets, so the small animals get overlooked. There HAS to be someone out there for them. How can I find them?! I know I'm doing everything right, I know they're happy. I just want them to make someone else happy for the rest of their little lives. Okay, end rant. I'm fine, I promise. Just had to vent a little. MY FOSTERS ARE DISNEY BUNS!!! How freaking adorable is this photo?!?!

I have been trying for yearssss to get our cats drawn by this artist, but I was never selected. So, I decided to submit the buns when I saw that she had open commissions and sure enough, they got picked, lol! Head over to Instagram to see her work , she's incredible!

I really hope this generates some interest for these two. They have been waiting for far too long. We are leaving for a 2 week vacation on June 13th and I'd LOVE to see them get adopted before then. Well, I'm sad that I missed National Rescue Dog Day for this announcement, but...it's finally here, my second book in the Rescue Tails series is now available on Amazon! https://a.co/d/031EYnWu

This book means a lot to me, Ozzie was my first and only dog and truly one of a kind. For parents, this book does touch on the death of a pet. I offer some guidance and questions to help you get through it with your little ones. I wanted to include this because I feel it's important for children to know that pets don't live forever and it's up to us to love them from beginning to end. I hope that you will give it a chance.

All of the royalties that I earn from this book will go directly to the Nebraska Humane Society since it's where we adopted Ozzie from way back in 1996! Please let me know what you all think! And thanks again for your support!
