This is what I love most about what I do.
Taking the love that’s already there and turning it into art.
I want you to look at your maternity photos and see more than a beautiful garden or a beautiful dress. I want you to see the way he looked at you. The connection. The version of you that existed right here, before everything changed again.
And I want you to feel beautiful while we create it.
This garden maternity session was so sweet and so much fun. We were goofy, we laughed, we played, and underneath it all was their story. Their love story. The love their beautiful little one will come into this world already surrounded by.
That’s what I want to preserve in every maternity session I photograph. Not just what this season looked like, but what it felt like.
Creating romantic, artful maternity photography here in Northern California means getting to tell stories like this, and I’m so grateful for the sweetest clients who trust me to see their love and turn it into something they can keep forever.
If you’re dreaming of maternity photos that feel romantic, playful and a little bit like art, this is your sign.

Sometimes the most beautiful locations are the ones you aren’t even looking for.
We were headed up to the redwoods for a family day when traffic changed our plans and we ended up stopping in Napa instead. And then I saw this field.
Tall, wild Queen Anne’s lace everywhere, with the dreamiest summer palette of soft greens, warm golds and delicate whites.
I live for fields of flowers, and I’ve always dreamed of finding a field filled with these tall white summer blooms. The second I saw it, I knew I had to come back with my camera.
So of course, a last minute styled shoot was born.
There’s something I love so much about creating simply because a place inspires you. No big plan. Just following that little spark when you see something that makes you want to make art.
And this field was exactly that.
P.S. Photographer tip: This field was completely wide open with some seriously harsh summer light, which can be trickier to shoot in. Here are my top harsh light tips.
☀️ 1. Bring an assistant to help diffuse the light when needed. I use a circular see through diffuser.
☀️ 2. Instead of putting the sun directly behind your subject, start with the light more off to the side. This can help you keep that dreamy backlit look without completely washing out your image.
☀️ 3. Up your shutter speed. For most of this shoot my shutter speed was 1/800 so I was not overexposing my images. That extra speed can make a huge difference when you’re working with intense light and trying to preserve those soft, creamy tones.

The best family Photography sessions aren’t about everyone looking at the camera.
They’re about running, playing, cuddling, exploring, and letting your children simply be little.
Those in between moments tell the story of your family in a way nothing else can.
And years from now, I hope that story lives inside a beautiful heirloom album. One that’s pulled off the shelf by your children... and one day, by your grandchildren. A reminder of where they came from and just how deeply they have always been loved.

Six months. One year. Five years.
The milestones matter. But what I hope you remember most isn’t how old your baby was. I hope you remember how it felt to hold them close, breathe them in, and spend an evening simply being together.
These are the moments that slip by so quietly while we’re busy living them, yet somehow become the ones we miss the most.
That’s the kind of magic I hope every family gets to keep forever. p.s. might be slightly obsessed with this sweet garden session and i’m super grateful to have such amazing and genuine sweet clients. 🥹🥹💕💕🙏🙏🫶

There is so much heaviness in the world right now, and I don’t think the answer is to ignore it. I think it’s to let it deepen our compassion while still making space to create.
Creating has always been how I reconnect with myself. It reminds me to slow down, notice the light, experiment, dream, and see the world through fresh eyes. That creative spark isn’t selfish. It’s what allows us to keep pouring into others and showing up with purpose.
This evening in the flowers was exactly what my soul needed. No pressure. No expectations. Just the freedom to create.
If you’ve been feeling creatively stuck or uninspired, maybe what you need isn’t to work harder. Maybe you just need to make something that fills your cup again.
That’s exactly why we’re returning to this gorgeous garden on September 3 for a small group styled shoot. We’ll spend the evening creating intentional, portfolio worthy images, refining your artistic eye, and hopefully leaving with that creative spark reignited.
If you’d love to join us, send me a DM for all the details. I’d love to create with you.

One of my favorite things is bringing photographers together to create.
This rose garden styled shoot was designed with one goal in mind, giving photographers beautiful, intentional marketing images they can proudly share to attract the clients they truly want to work with.
The best part? They didn’t have to worry about directing the couple or wondering what to do next.
I guided the posing from beginning to end, helped with camera settings, composition, lighting, and all of the little details so everyone could relax, create, and leave with images they were excited to share. While they photographed each setup, I stepped aside and captured a few images from my own perspective too.
Beyond the photos, these days always remind me how powerful community is. There is something so refreshing about being surrounded by people who genuinely want to learn, encourage one another, and celebrate each other’s wins. We all grow so much faster when we’re willing to create together instead of competing.
I’m already planning the next Styled Shoot Experience on September 3, and I would absolutely love to have you there.
If you’re a photographer who wants fresh portfolio images, hands on guidance throughout the shoot, and a day filled with creativity and community, send me a DM for all the details. I can’t wait to create something beautiful with you.

Ever since becoming a mother, time feels different. The days can feel so long, but somehow the years keep slipping by faster than I can hold onto them.
That’s why documenting life right now, in the middle of the chaos, feels so important to me. Not when everything is perfectly in place, but in the messy, playful, in-between. Because those are the moments we end up missing most.
This year the rain came hard and often, and we missed so many of the blooms we wait for each spring. But when the clouds finally cleared in March, we found this little orchard with just a few blossoms still hanging on. It felt like such a reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be full or perfect to matter.
The trees were beautiful, but what mattered most was the play, the laughter, the little hands reaching for mama, and the memories being made right there in the middle of it all.

The golden poppies were showing off, but this little guy was far less impressed… mostly because he was convinced every bug and bee was out to get him.
He wanted nothing to do with the ground and spent most of the session safely in mama and daddy’s arms, and honestly… that made for some of the sweetest moments.
One thing I’ve learned after years of photographing little ones is that the session doesn’t have to go “perfectly” to create beautiful, meaningful images. Sometimes it just means leaning into what they need most in the moment.
A little extra cuddling, a few sneaky tricks up my sleeve, and plenty of patience gave us the sweetest smiles and the kind of moments that feel like them.
