Since I first saw a composite image of a solar eclipse it was my dream to experience one myself. Now I've had the pleasure to not only see one but to make my first composite with my own images throughout the eclipse.

Fun Eclipse Fact: You may see the sun as either white or yellow during the partial phases but always white during totality. This is because the solar film a lot of people use is tinted yellow. If you use a neutral density filter instead you get something closer the suns natural white color.

Went up to Elk County last weekend with Melody Argondizzo and my Parents Jim Argondizzo to see the Elk rut. We had a great time and I got a few good shots. They are impressive animals!

My composite eclipse image of the sun moving across the Pittsburgh skyline.

While the 2017 eclipse did not reach totality here in Pittsburgh it did reach 83%. The sky dimmed, the temperature dropped and the crickets started chirping. I was able to experience this impressive event from the North Shore, taking it all in as the sun moved across the cityscape below.
