A little senior Sunday moment for a truly bright light, Ava ✨✨✨✨ There was laughing, there was ukulele playing, there was frolicking in gorgeous light and hopes for a quick dunk in the creek (next time!) ✨✨✨✨ I had a blast with this girl and LOVE when seniors show up to have fun and make their session their own! So can we do it again next month?? I’m suuuper behind on everything, but posting is definitely up there. Trying to get back on track and have oodles to share! 📸

A senior session with Rowan from a few weeks back. ✨ Lots of laughing, a few bugs, and some perfect fall light. It’s such a gift when I get to photograph a former Bend High student 🥹 and I had so much fun hearing all about the new building (so fancy!), this year’s soccer team (so good!), and the teachers and students and hallways that I miss. I had senior portrait sessions all weekend long and have four more this week, along with a couple of family mini sessions and a 40 Over 40 session. October is BUSY! A huge thank you to the seniors who I had the honor of photographing this season and here’s to a few more to come before those November yearbook deadlines!

Sometimes, it’s all about the attitude ✨Heather for the 40 Over 40 Project ✨ As usual, I wrapped up this session feeling inspired and grateful to connect with another bad ass woman through this project. Heather, like many of us, is in a season of transition and transformation. I felt honored she chose this project as a way to take another step forward, professionally, personally, and intentionally. Heather is a realtor, a horse enthusiast, a traveler…and a damn fine shoe collector. Seriously. Can I come over and raid your closet?? 🫣 She wanted to book a 40 Over 40 session to update some professional shots to launch her next venture, but also to claim stepping into her 5th decade. I’m so grateful for the trust, my friend ❤️

This is the first year I’ve offered these sessions, and I’m in love 🥹 The thought of seeing the growth the happens between freshman and senior year in beautiful portraits side by side just makes me smile. These are the days 💖 And of course I’m biased but WHEW! Capturing these moments is so important. Days are fleeting, the years go by too fast, we change and grow and forget…but we have photographs to help us remember. Who we were, where we’ve been, how far we’ve come. Bethany, for the 40 Over 40 Project ✨ What. A. JOY it was to work with this woman! So much laughing. Such a babe. We shared our love of reading and w**e, listened to great music, and talked about what it means to live with joy, even during the toughest times of life. Bethany also inspired me to take some time for myself and indulge in sinking into a good book more often (because let’s face it, all I do is work). She’s walking the talk and even has an Instagram account called Book At The Bar showcasing her latest reads and favorite places to sip and dine. 🍷 Thank you for trusting me to capture this moment in time for you, my friend. Senior Sunday with Mason 🍁 Those fall colors are starting to turn, the days are getting shorter, the light is getting softer…it’s a dreamy time of year to photograph outdoors. Mason and I did a little hike along the Deschutes for his senior photos, and what a beautiful (but buggy) night. I haven’t seen mosquitoes all summer and we both got crushed! 🦟 You wouldn’t know it though, looking at the ease and comfort on Mason’s face! So many parents say that their senior ‘hates having their photo taken’ or ‘will probably last about 10 minutes’ or ‘good luck getting a smile’ 🫣 The BEST COMPLIMENT I get from parents is ‘I’m shocked, but my kid actually had fun!’ I love working with high school seniors because I spent every weekday with them for over 20 years and I get it! It’s an honor to be able to capture this moment for them and celebrate them outside the classroom. I’m completely booked for senior portraits this season, but if you’ve got a rising senior in high school, it’s never too late to start planning!

Nicole + Kenny 🤍 These two got married a couple of weeks ago and as I work on their gallery, I smile remembering how sweet and special and wonderful the day was. The weather could not have been more perfect. The venue, classic Central Oregon. The guest list, classic Bend. I was so honored to be able to capture this day for these two amazing humans. I don’t photograph many weddings but when I do, it’s such a gift to witness the love and inner workings of family and community coming together. Thank you for having me be a part of your beautiful day, Nicole and Kenny! It was such a joy. (And maybe the MOST EPIC dance party of any wedding ever?!)

A little Senior Sunday post for Sam ✨ All of my senior sessions have been so great this year and hooray for an October filled with them too. Sam is just the coolest. Creative, smart, funny, and wise, he was down for exploring a new location and getting comfortable in front of the camera. Sam makes clothes and photos, is thinking about law school, and doesn’t mind getting up before the sun to climb Smith Rock for a sunrise. So lucky to work with such rad seniors 🙌🏼 My calendar is (over)full for October, but if you’d still like to work with me on senior portraits this year, November is always an option!

The incredible Janaya Skye for the 40 Over 40 Project. We laughed. We danced. One of us took off her shirt (I’ll never tell who). Janaya, you are one of the most badass women. Owner of Paradox Strength, a business built on making you stronger, she trains and mentors her clients to reach their full potential in the gym and in the world. She’s also a breast cancer survivor, dedicated partner, travel enthusiast, adventure seeker, and 20 years sober. Oof. Inspiring to say the least. Janaya decided to participate in the 40 Over 40 Project for a few reasons but the biggest one was to reclaim her body, spirit and sparkle after a long cancer journey and double mastectomy. A moment to be recognized and celebrated, no doubt. Thank you for trusting me, Janaya. Honored to have you in my orbit ✨🤍
