5 questions to ask yourself if you want brand photos that feel like you 🤍

⚡️when did it all start?
reconnect with your roots and get inspired by your own origin story.

⚡️what’s your greater mission?
and how can bring that into your visuals through the creative direction?

⚡️what sets your brand apart from the rest in your industry?
competition falls away when you dominate your own lane.

⚡️who do you *really* want to work with and what do they value?
You probably share this in common so think about how can you embody those values.

⚡️how do you want to feel during your shoot?
the energy you create in will determine how you feel later on, so set the intention early to enjoy the process. you’ll be infinitely more likely to enjoy the result.

The four phases of a soul calling ꩜

1.) The existential crisis

The humble beginnings.. Where everything feels unstable and uncertain as the path you once envisioned for yourself starts to crumble before your eyes. It will feel like a death of sorts, because it is. The old identity you once held onto so tightly cannot come with you into this next chapter. During this phase, you’ll find yourself redefining what you truly value, and the way of living that is more aligned with your soul’s purpose.

2.) The call from within

A clear, undeniable, intuitive pull from within to move in particular direction. This is your soul’s calling, asking you to surrender, trust, and act.

3.) The resistance

As you begin to take action towards the path you feel most aligned with, internal resistance is a natural byproduct. It can show up as procrastination, exhaustion, doubt, fear, and unexpected challenges. Supporting your nervous system and energy here is key as you move through this phase.

4.) The energy of momentum

As you move through the resistance, you start to unlock and meet parts of yourself that have been longing to be met. You begin to heal these parts, integrate them into your work and become a more whole and honest version of you. Not only do you yourself become more fulfilled in the process, the work you’re doing begins to have a ripple effect of love and positive outcomes in the world.

Official brand photo reveal for my dear friend, the Portland-based sound healing alchemist herself, .

When Taylor told me her vision for a shoot in nature with her crystal bowls, I started dreaming of locations that could match her grounding energy and the magic of her craft. After sending over 3 spots that came to mind, she landed on this one, and our late Summer adventure was set into motion.

For a few golden hours, we got to create with giant boulders, waterfalls, a gorgeous river, and an iconic footbridge as our setting. The vibe was an ethereal blend of earth, light and sound.

Taylor’s photos are now featured all over her website, creating a cohesive and elevated feel, and have been used to showcase her upcoming offers on her Instagram.

It’s such a dream to collaborate with brands and humans who are making a positive impact in the world, and Taylor is one of ‘em. ✨🤍 Highly recommend signing up for her next sound healing experience if you’re in the Portland area.

Having a brand that felt like a true extension of me used to feel impossibly hard.

I thought if I showed too much of myself that it would be too confusing and turn people away. Slowly, I am beginning to see the truth behind the fear —

That being multi-faceted and paradoxical is what makes a human being (and a brand) unique and interesting.

You don’t have to be a watered down version of you to attract your dream clients. Quite the opposite, actually. It is what’s unconventional and unexpected about you that makes you the most magnetic to them.

Perhaps.. it’s time to own it.

Don’t get it twisted.. I am also a Pinterest girly.

But my art and inner world become so much richer when I source creative inspiration elsewhere.

And if I’m being reaaally honest.. current screen time already got me overstimulated AF. So yes please to anything that gets me off these apps. 💃🏻

These are my top 5 ways to get creatively inspired that don’t involve the internet. I will be using a few of them this week while I’m in Seattle and I’m very excited about it! Will share more about that in my stories.
