One of the biggest perks of this job is getting to share your sacred and fleeting newborn bliss. Most families are finding their footing a routine, trying to catch every second of sleep they’re afforded, lost in a pile of diapers, laundry, nursing pads, milk stained shirts, and hoping they can find time for a decent meal with a newborn. It’s typically not a time where a lot of faces get to see this fresh life so new to the world, and it makes me feel so honored. I’m always so taken aback by just how tiny and sweet new babies are. It makes me think of how quickly time has passes with a baby and how quickly you can forget the little details as your newborn gets replaced each month with a baby more awake to world, curious, smart, silly, and full of personality. The first few weeks are just so special and I feel so lucky to be a fly on the wall as you and your new family member grow to know and love each other.

I have recently made the decision to stop doing minis all together. I am sure there are photographers out there who love minis and feel like they get what they need out of 10-30 minutes, but it is not me.

My priority is fostering connection and intention in our time together. I don’t want to be the photographer that’s just throwing you through the shuffle as next in the queue. Boom boom boom, hit the same 10 poses as the family before and you’re on your way. 👋🏼

Each session is personal and not a black and white experience. It’s a story of you. It takes time to unfold, learn and share.

When I show up to a session, i want to say hello, make sure your children know I know their names, I’m curious about who they are, and what makes them tick and that I have all the time in the world for them to feel safe and let me in. I leave my sessions having a genuine sense of the personalities and people I just spent time photographing. I am here to take a slice of your life and show everyone how sweet it is.

After having my daughter last year my world completely shifted, so did what I wanted to photograph. I live in a. State of constant nostalgia and wishing I could squeeze every drop of her happiness and sweet little personality and funny things she does into forever. It’s given me fresh eyes for the way I photograph you and your children and all I can hope is one day when you’re old and grey you’ll look at your photos and remember how it felt.

If you’re lucky enough to know this family, you’ll know how these photos encapsulate their sweet, loving, kind, wonderful souls.

I used to work in a tiny coffee stand with Jess and I remember the day she came in, took an order right away, and passed me the cup to make the drink that read “I’m pregnant 💗”. I knew her and Jordan were going to be the most incredible parents. And when El was born I remember asking Jess if I could take her newborn photos. I had little to no experience and was so scared. My work was not good in any respect, and Jess was an already established amazing photographer, and still said yes. I showed up to her house to meet the most beautiful baby girl and take photos of her and her mama in their home.

6 years later I’ve watched her family grow into TWO beautiful children, a successful business and an incredibly loving marriage. What an honor to capture their love and share their joy all these years later. 💌
