No I will not be seeking help for this. I’m completely fine with my intrusive thoughts while “working!”

If you want someone who is absolutely feral with excitement at your proposal, hit me up.

Juniper Preserve is one of those venues that does half the work for you. The high desert landscape, the sweeping views, the way the light hits in the late afternoon – it’s a photographer’s dream. But what made Carrie and Troy’s day really stand out had nothing to do with the backdrop.

These two were just flat-out fun to be around. The kind of couple that keeps you laughing between shots. I had a blast from start to finish.

If you’re eyeing Juniper Preserve for your own wedding, I’d love to be there with my cameras and energy. Days like this are exactly why I do this.

No AI BS here… Every single one of these was a real moment.

A wedding day moves fast and it hits different every single time. The chaos of getting ready, the stillness right before you walk down the aisle, the laugh that sneak-attacks you mid-ceremony, the way the light falls on the two of you during golden hour when you’ve forgotten I’m even there.

Some couples want it clean and intentional. I’ll pull you somewhere with incredible light and make something beautiful on purpose. Some couples want pure candids captured. Some want both. My job is to figure out what you actually value and then go get it, all day long, without stopping. Challenge accepted!

The best wedding photos are the ones you never want to stop looking at. Let’s go get ‘em!

If you want someone locked in from the first look to the last dance, let’s talk. Your date might still be open.

Tumalo Mountain at sunset is just unfair.

Emily and Mark earned every single one of these photos. That hike is no joke, and by the time you reach the summit your legs are burning and your lungs are working overtime. But then the view hits, the golden light starts doing its thing, and suddenly none of that matters anymore.
Here’s the thing about engagement sessions people don’t expect: they sign up feeling awkward and uncomfortable in front of a camera. But somewhere between the trail and the summit, something shifts. You stop thinking about the lens and start just... being with your person. My job is to stay out of the way of that and catch it when it happens.

With Emily and Mark, I was locked in from the moment we started the hike. I love this stuff. The adventure, the big views, the light that makes everything feel a little unreal. I was just as hyped at minute one as I was at the very end, and that energy is contagious.

These two made some incredible memories up there, and I’m so damn lucky I got to witness it. What a “job” I have!

If you and your person are the type to chase a summit for your engagement session, I want in. Send me a message and let’s build something worth the hike.

When you open the door and the whole wedding party loses their minds, you know it’s gonna be a good day.

I opened the door expecting to grab a quick candid, and instead got a full-on standing ovation. Arms up, screaming, biggest smiles I’ve seen all day, and we had hours of fun in front of us. That energy? That’s what you’re hiring me to capture, and apparently also what you’re hiring me to cause.

When your wedding party is that hyped up and that comfortable around their photographer, the photos basically take themselves. I’m not chasing anyone down or begging for a real smile. I’m just... opening doors and collecting moments.

If you want a photographer your whole crew is actually excited to see, I’d love to be that person for your wedding day. Drop a comment or send me a message to check your date.

“We’re not super comfortable in front of the camera…”

I hear that all the time. Aubin and Darren said the same thing when we first talked. They’re not into stiff poses. Not into “classic engagement” cringe. They just want to feel like themselves.

So we met up at Shevlin Park on a chilly day, took a quick Fireball shot in the parking lot to warm things up thanks to these legends, and then… started moving. No pressure. Just a little prompt here-and-there, laughter, and letting them settle into each other.

The light was soft and moody with that perfect cloudy glow Bend does so well. Darren loosened up fast. Aubin’s emotions started to shine through. The more they forgot about the camera, the better it got.

This is exactly why engagement sessions matter. Getting photos for your save the dates or the wedding website is always nice, but it’s really about building comfort. And trust. Learning how we work best together. Realizing you don’t have to perform.

By the time their Riverhouse wedding rolls around with 125 of their favorite people ready to party, they’ll already know how easy this can feel.

If you’re even a little nervous about being photographed, that’s your sign to book the engagement session (and bring the fireball 🔥🥃. I promise it changes everything.

This wedding is so damn good I can’t fit it all into one post!!!! I pulled up to this FivePine winter wedding and immediately knew it was going to be a good one. Excited to share these (and more down the road).

A sliver of ice on the stream, cabins tucked into the trees, people bouncing between spaces with coffee and jackets half-zipped because they were too excited to stand still. It felt relaxed right from the start. Just that quiet buzz of “today’s the day.”

Getting ready was easy and fun. Lots of laughing. Friends popping in and out. Layers being added and removed. Everyone settling in and soaking it up. FivePine does winter so well because it keeps things close and connected. You’re never far from the people you care about, and that shows in the photos.

The ceremony was simple and perfect. Cold air, brilliant lighting, and everyone savoring the moment. Two wonderful souls ( and .smg.garcia) getting married surrounded by their people in a place that didn’t need dressing up (it shows off perfect every time).

From the moment I arrived through the ceremony, this day felt fun and exactly how a winter wedding should feel. FivePine always delivers, and this one was no exception.

This isn’t a political post.
It’s a values post.

I photograph love, families, and celebration for a living. I don’t believe I can do that honestly while staying silent about what’s happening around us.

I benefit from privilege in this country. That privilege comes with responsibility. Staying quiet in moments like this isn’t neutral. It’s avoidance. And avoidance protects systems that harm people.

This is about equality.
This is about human rights.
This is about choosing compassion over what is fundamentally wrong with our society.

If these values align with you, you’re welcome here.
If they don’t, you’re free to unfollow, mute, or move on at any time.

I won’t be debating this in the comments.

I proudly photograph and serve couples and families who believe love should be safe, visible, and celebrated without fear.

These aren’t just holiday cards. They’re time capsules.

Six years ago, we made our first holiday card that tried to say everything about our year in one photograph. What started as a creative outlet has turned into one of my favorite family traditions. 🤘🏻🤣

Every year we make one photo. No explanations spelled out. Just details that matter to us. Little Easter eggs. Inside jokes. The highs, the hard stuff, the crap we didn’t plan for. It’s our way of stopping for a second and saying, “Yep… that pretty much sums it up.”

2025 was full, fun, and chaotic in the best way. Our kitchen tells the story. Toys everywhere. Flour on Sunny’s face because baking together is now a thing. I’m holding six cookies, each tied to something big from the year: bikes, camping, mountains, planes, Tucson, and Sunny herself. Race bibs on the fridge from a 100-mile bike race and Haley’s trail marathon. Preschool art taped up. Photos of two family dogs we lost and still think about daily. A pink flamingo named Gary. Cinderella toys. A tiny walking boot from a badly sprained ankle. A potty and a book because potty training is very real life. A red guitar because music is her jam. A stack of books because she loves to read. And Cadence, our 17-year-old cat, still making her annual appearance.

2024 was exhaustion and grief. Sunny dangling from the tree. Haley reaching. Me yawning with coffee. Izzy gone.

2023 was boxes everywhere. A move to Bend. Sunny still a baby. Izzy and Cadence right beside us.

2022 was anticipation and fear. A nursery not quite ready. Me buried in a “how to be a dad” book. Haley holding breast pump parts. Izzy and Cadence watching us wonder what we got ourselves into.

2021 was rough. Knee surgery. Broken bones. Ice packs. Meds. Foam rollers. Haley coaching basketball. Me asleep on the couch while Haley gives me the look.

2020 was survival mode. Zoom calls. Toilet paper. Masks. Fire outside the window. Home workouts. Renovation projects. Sourdough bread. Trying to make sense of a world that didn’t make sense.

Cheers to 2025. Here’s to an awesome 2026.

I love that so many weddings I photograph spark and this Tetherow wedding was absolutely lit from the first moment to the last. The kind of day where the weather cooperates, the vibes are all right, and the couple is completely dialed into each other. That combo is unstoppable.

Tetherow is one of those places that makes you feel like you’re shooting inside a postcard. Wide open views. Clean lines. Golden light that hits at just the right angle. It creates space for couples to relax and be themselves and that always shows in the photos. These two took full advantage of it. They laughed, they soaked in the views, they trusted the process and the results were insane.

When the party started… wow. The energy hit another level and it never came back down. People were dancing like the night belonged to them and honestly it kind of did. It was the perfect ending to a day that already felt unforgettable.

This is why I love photographing weddings. When everything aligns like this, the storytelling becomes effortless. Tetherow gave us the backdrop but these two brought the fire.
