When my friends asked me which hike are we doing this weekend, I told my friends “If the path is beautiful, then don’t ask me where it leads to” before I led them on a 5 mile hike with 2000ft elevation gain up the Saddle mountain 🐒😛 They climbed it because they knew they were getting rewarded with smores at Cannon beach 😎

Moral of the story: Ignorance is bliss and food bribes help get your friends go up a mountain 🤣

The very first fall I visited when I first moved to Oregon! South falls in Silver falls state park. I have visited this falls a lot of times and is my go to falls to show to people visiting me, over Multnomah falls (unpopular opinion). From adventuring into a cougar territory alone to being dumbfounded by the summit views, climbing South Sister peak alone was an unforgettable experience. Being 10.5 hrs on the trail all by yourself with just your thoughts can be boring or terrifying for some, but for me it has always been a time of self reflection to center myself. A little bit of self reflection is necessary so as to not lose sight of what truly matters to you…

Reaching the top of Mount Saint Helens was surreal and emotional! Not going to lie but I had a much needed emotional release in the form of tears after summiting. Probably tears of joy as that moment meant more to me than anything else in my life… Expressing the inexpressible through my tears.

Last year, I couldn’t climb this peak due to wildfires, so this was almost one year in the making! This photo shows Mt Adams in the background but atop Mount Saint Helens you get a 360 degree view of 3 of the biggest peaks in PNW region: Mt Rainier, Mt Adams and Mt Hood. As if Mount Saint Helens was giving me Easter eggs for climbs/hikes to do next year haha 😂 Who wants to join in on my craziness?

In school, we had houses, before Harry Potter made it cool. I belonged to the Emerald house and our house motto was “Optimism”. Thinking back, I never realized until now how much that one word has shaped my life or given me strength to take on my days. I guess what they say is true, “Optimism is the key to look further” which I realized by looking back 😂 So I am living life looking forward but understanding life, by looking back..
