Katie Graham Photography Wedding and Family Photographer based on Chautauqua Lake serving couples and families nationwide. Hi everyone, and welcome to Katie Graham Photography! xx

I specialize in fine art photography, and am a sucker for detail shots. My personal style is documentary photography mixed with fine art stylizings. I love artistic, and thoughtful details that I feel truly bring a session to life. I currently reside in Bemus Point with my husband, Jackson, and our golden-doodle pup, Sully. You will often find me either munching on baked zucchini or on a bike ride

to the nearest Perry's ice cream stand (White Lightning in a waffle cone, please). Feel free to contact me with any inquiries, and I look forward to working with you!

In 2024 I felt God nudging me to take on less. Less weddings, less weekends away, and less work as a whole.

This was far from comfortable, and after only accepting 6 weddings for 2025 I was downright scared.

But those 6 weddings were exactly what we needed, and ended up being my favorite wedding season yet.

For 2026 I’ve only accepted 6 weddings, and have space for 1 more. In 2027 I’ll only be accepting 6-7 again. That being said, if you’re looking for a photographer, now is the time to reach out. 🤍

I’m so grateful for all of our 2025 couples! Here’s to all 2026 holds!

Golden hour portraits are the most requested photos I get.

And ALSO some of the most tricky…

Sunset lasts about 20–30 minutes.
Color peaks fast.
Sometimes it lingers. Sometimes it fades in ten.

And if your timeline doesn’t protect that window, it disappears while dinner is being served… or during toasts… or right as the dance floor opens.

Golden hour doesn’t pause for your reception schedule.

If you love soft, glowing, romantic portraits — the kind that feel calm and cinematic and intimate — you have to anchor your day around sunset.

Not the other way around.

That means:
• Knowing your exact sunset time
• Leaving 30 minutes before it open
• Not scheduling anything 10–15 minutes after
• Building your ceremony + reception timing around light

The most seamless wedding days I photograph are built backward from sunset — not forward from hair & makeup.

If you want help doing that, my Wedding Day Timeline Guide walks you through exactly how to reverse-engineer your timeline so nothing gets rushed and golden hour is protected.

Every bride thinks she’ll be the “relaxed one.”

The one sipping champagne.
Laughing with her girls.
Calm, glowing, fully present.

But relaxed isn’t personality.

It’s preparation.

The difference between a chaotic wedding morning and a calm one usually comes down to 15–30 minutes of buffer time.

That’s it.

Not a different venue.
Not a bigger bridal suite.
Not “better” vendors.

Fifteen extra minutes between hair and getting dressed.
Ten extra minutes built into portraits.
A cushion before the ceremony so no one is rushing you.

Without buffer, small delays stack up:
Hair runs late.
The dress takes longer to button.
Someone can’t find their shoes.

And suddenly the energy shifts.

With buffer, everything breathes.

You deserve coffee.
You deserve deep breaths.
You deserve laughter that isn’t rushed.
You deserve sunset portraits that don’t feel squeezed in between toasts.

The calm wedding mornings you see in photos?

They’re designed that way.

The reason most wedding ceremonies start late isn’t dramatic.
It’s math.

Not traffic.
Not your guests.
Not your venue.

It’s 5 minutes.

Five minutes because hair ran long.
Five minutes because the dress buttons took longer than expected.
Five minutes because someone couldn’t find their shoes.
Five minutes because a groomsman disappeared.

Individually? No big deal.

But 5 + 5 + 5 + 5 adds up quickly.

And suddenly:

• Family portraits get rushed
• Couple portraits get cut short
• You lose your buffer before the ceremony
• Guests are waiting
• You’re walking down the aisle already stressed

It’s rarely one big disaster.
It’s small, unplanned minutes compounding.

This is why I build buffer into every timeline I create.

Not because I expect chaos.
But because weddings are emotional, human, and beautifully imperfect — and they deserve margin.

If you want a relaxed morning, light-filled portraits, and a ceremony that starts on time — build buffer.

Add 10 minutes between major events.
Add travel cushion.
Plan to be ready early.

Grace > stress.

And if you want a step-by-step walkthrough of exactly how much time you actually need and where to add it, my Wedding Day Timeline Guide walks you through it.

You don’t have to guess.

If you’re planning a wedding on Chautauqua Lake in 2026, your sunset time isn’t just a detail — it’s the anchor of your entire photography timeline.

Between May and October, Saturday sunsets shift by nearly 3 hours.
That means your ceremony time, cocktail hour flow, and golden hour portraits all depend on it.

This is why my couples don’t guess.
We build your timeline intentionally — around light, experience, and the moments that matter most.

Because those dreamy lake portraits?
They happen in a 15–20 minute window you can’t get back.

Save this for your planning folder.
And when you’re ready to design a wedding day that feels effortless and photographs beautifully, I’d love to guide you.

Chautauqua Lake brides — this is one to watch.

The Hotel Lenhart is reopening after a stunning renovation and is now booking 2027 weddings… and it may just become one of the most sought-after lakeside venues in Western New York.

If you’re dreaming of:

• A historic hotel filled with charm
• Champagne on a rooftop deck overlooking the lake
• An intimate Crystal Room reception
• Bonfires and slow evenings in iconic rocking chairs
• A full wedding weekend experience with 40 guest rooms onsite

This is your place.

I specialize in documenting natural, candid moments for couples who prioritize experience — who see their wedding as more than one day, but a meaningful gathering of the people they love most.

The Hotel Lenhart offers space for exactly that.

If you’re planning a 2027 wedding on Chautauqua Lake, I’d love to help you preserve it beautifully.
