What an emotional rollercoaster here! For those that have followed my instagram stories for the past week you have already met Miss B. Found helpless and desperate on a blade of grass in my yard unable to fly. Happily took my hand and we have been caring for her ever since. We have a metal wire cage for her with sugar water and are constantly picking her flowers and taking her to visit flowers. She is so sweet and trusting of us. I thought maybe pesticides got her but she would be gone by now. Her wings appear in perfect condition. I think she was injured in someway that perhaps affected her brain or something to not be able to fly. I wish she could figure it out as she deserves a bee life. For now we will continue to do what we can for her. We are going away on vacation tomorrow and it looks like she will be headed to the Poconos with us. I hope we can find her enough edible flowers!

We had the chance to see Big Boy No: 4014 today in my home town of Philadelphia on the 4th of July and America’s 250th Birthday. What an awesome site:
Some Fun info:
Of the 25 Big Boys built in the 1940s, only eight remain— and just one, No. 4014, is operational.
Big Boy No. 4014 was restored in 2019 and converted from coal-fired to oil. The massive locomotives were commissioned by Union Pacific in 1941 to haul heavy equipment in support of World War II.
