skagit wedding show, you have my heart.
what an incredible group of people to have in my life.
i don’t know that i can even explain how tired i am, but i could not imagine missing out on this. community is not a strong enough word to describe what i feel when i walk into a (stunning) venue and am met with the energy of all these badass women that wake up everyday and continuously take a chance on themselves in running a small business in this ever-evolving wedding industry.
i can’t speak for everyone, but i know a lottt of us are in the thick of busy season and are constantly working to show up for our clients in as many ways as possible, so it feels good to be able to show up for each other on a day like today. from helping each other set up tents and carry tables, to hauling crates and wagons of equipment, to lending whatever we have to spare wherever it’s needed, to being a second pair of eyes when you can’t tell if the booth layout looks quite right, to helping someone else get their torn-down gear to their car immediately after finishing your own several trips back and forth, all without being asked. even saving someone else from being an involuntary chauffeur to one of the fattest spiders i’ve ever seen AND being merciful to the spider (not at all how i would have handled the situation, but i respect it) it takes a community of people that can’t help but celebrate someone else’s successes. i’m so grateful to have met so many new people today, and am beyond excited for what the next season holds for all of us.
thanks for always saving me a seat at the coolest table i’ll ever get to sit with. 🫶
