After a disappointing afternoon of not finding interesting bird photo opportunities I finally found a good sized flock of Snow Geese (photos on the way). My disappointment continued as I missed 2 full flock take offs while I checked out another area nearby. After spending some time with the geese I decided to head to 1 last spot and on the way I found this small group of swans, about a dozen. These are the first Trumpeter Swans for me of the season and made the rest of the afternoon feel ok.
After a few landed one of the ones who were already on the ground stated going after one of the other swans, even pulling out some feathers. If you look closely you can see some feathers in the beak in the last image.

The Snow Geese are on their way south for the winter. I was lucky enough to find some yesterday and got to hang out with some fellow photographers Tiana Cosette Mukul Soman Rusty Farmtool . And so begins the dance between me and the Snow Geese flocks, I think they are not going to take off before dark and head out from my spot and then they take off. Luckily last night I hadn't left the parking lot so I was able to grab my camera and capture the first photo of Mukul, 2 others, and the Snow Geese silhouetted with the last bit of the sunset colors.

A few hours before taking the photos from my last post (the moon with the acid ball) I was trying to get some slow shutter images of this Great Blue Herron as it hunted in the creek. These photos were taken at 1/10 and 1/20 shutter speed. I will have to go back soon, with my tripod this time, and see if I can get some cooler looking flowing water with the harmony as the creek flow has increased.

Went out on a photo adventure last week with Nate Bolton and thanks to Nate's suggestion did some setting moon photos. The old GP acid ball was a great foreground subject for the crescent and the walkway lights lit up the acid ball nicely.

I was finally able to get out and get some photos of the Milkyway with some dahlias at Amber | Bellingham Flower Farm . These are my favorite 4 shots from my time out there. Each one of these images is 2 photos combined into 1. I took a photo of the flower then refocused and took the sky image.
If you look really closely, 2 images have a surprise in the background, can you find the surprise?
