Deception Pass was an easy choice for Kaya & Jaid’s engagement session! It’s a place that’s been so special to them over the years, and now they have some new memories to look back on, too. We started up at the bridge and then took a long walk through the beaches and trails, following the sunset and getting so excited for their wedding day! Can’t wait to celebrate these two next year and watch their vision come together.☺️

10 years together, finally married, and a big wedding worth waiting for! After many flights, long drives, and ferry rides, over 100 of their friends and family gathered to celebrate—and we fit them all together in a photo before one of the greatest dance parties I’ve ever witnessed. PJ & Phoenix are so sweet and caring, and it felt so special to watch all these fun, joyful moments happen for them. Looking forward to many more memories with these two!☺️

The Lucy Marty Party was an absolute DREAM! They gathered all their favorite people together at Semiahmoo Resort, Golf and Spa, draped it with vibrant colors and whimsy, and really took the time to pause, be present, and enjoy every piece of their day. In the two years I’ve been looking forward to their wedding, it became so clear that Lucy and Marty carry so much JOY, warmth, intention, and genuine care for the people in their lives. Seeing them together, it’s just so clear they each found their best friend. I couldn’t be happier for them to finally get married, squeeze all their loved ones, dance their hearts out! I’ll be reminiscing about this day forever.💛

In between photographing weddings, I’ve been reuniting with past couples for family sessions more than ever! Weddings are my dream job, and I’m confident they always will be. However it’s no surprise that this past year of pregnancy and parenthood has helped me see and appreciate families in a whole new way.

It’s the cautious excitement of waiting to meet your new favorite person, the unknowns of what your lives will look like, and the joy of knowing your partner will be at your side for all of it. Finally meeting, the overwhelming pride as they learn, and watching them become more and more themselves every single day. I notice changes differently now—how the length of their body fits on your arm (or doesn’t anymore), the way their legs scrunch or dangle, and all the little things that excite them like scratching their fingers against the texture of your sweater. All of it is just so special and worth remembering!

I’ve also noticed a sudden increase over the past year of families wanting their kids to stay faceless online, both publicly and now on their private pages—and to my complete surprise I’ve felt myself shifting in this direction for my own kiddo, too. It’s been really fun, creative, and natural to incorporate these! It’s the same mix of joyful interactions and classic portraits we’ve always strived for together, but with an extra sprinkle of anonymity added in.

Because even if you don’t want to share their childhoods, it is so fun to still be able to share your journey is as parents. I get it, and I’ve got you!💛

I’m booking portrait sessions for October and beyond, and I’d love to see you again and capture this special time in your lives! Dani and Emily started their year with an elopement at Christianson’s Nursery! The cozy greenhouses kept us warm as they shared their vows, and they celebrated with a small cake from Saltadena Bakery. It was just the two of them, their officiant, myself and my assistant as witnesses, and yet their wedding was still full of the biggest laughs and so much joy! After, we took Chuckanut Drive up to Larrabee State Park for portraits along the water and then finished the day with tacos at Black Sheep in Bellingham. Renan and Cody shared a tiny, joyful elopement in Bellevue! We started with portraits at Bellevue Downtown Park, including the city skyline and their closest family members. As the fall rain came in, we drove to the King County Courthouse and made it official! I get to work with the kindest couples who just want to be themselves and enjoy a fun day surrounded by their favorite people! I feel so grateful for this year, for my sweet clients and their loved ones, and all the special moments we got to experience together. I know most of us started as strangers, but the way you and your families welcome me into it all is such a gift. Thank you for choosing and trusting me as your photographer!☺️💛

We started January 1st with a teeny tiny elopement, followed by a big summer of full day/weekend-long celebrations, and a handful of opportunities to support my friends Eva and Sarah Jane at their weddings. Can’t wait to share more images soon!
