Fuzz Gumbo Photo Fuzz Gumbo Photo is the Music Photography page for Kurt Clark of Bellevue WA. Highlights Music and After that he was hooked.

Kurt Clark is a Music and Action photographer from Bellevue WA. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Kurt has been interested by photography since he was a young kid. His Mom gave him a Kodak Signet 35 in junior high when he joined the school annual staff. The staff adviser gave him one assignment: take pictures of whatever caught his eye. She provided him with unlimited Kodak black & white film, an

d one roll of Kodachrome per week. Kurt continued to take pictures through the 1980s and 1990s with a series of used SLRs and inexpensive point & shoots. He got his first digital camera in 1999 (it used floppy disks). Over the next ten years his love for photography grew, and he began capturing railroad activity and landscapes. All the while Kurt never stopped using film cameras. Kurt's photography equipment now is a blend of both film and digital. He lives by the motto "Life, As It Happens," still capturing whatever catches his eye - just like he did in junior high. His favorite subjects are music concerts, cars, family, railroading, and street photography.

The NightCry describes their music as Posh Goth - firmly planted in the dark subjects of Goth music but with a desire to share it in fabulous ways. Stylish black clothing, nightclub aesthetics, and by their own description "A touch of fe**sh flair that sets us apart." It’s a style, a feeling, a release and a presentation - all in one fierce package.

The art of Van Kaufman, Art Fitzpatrick, Bob Peak, Robert McGinnis, and Robert Abbett was known for its jaunty lines and heavy paint strokes. Look for examples in movie posters from Sophia Loren's "Diabolique," "Our Man Flint," "Valley Of The Dolls," and "Apocalypse Now."

Raquel Welch had the kind of features that blended well with this art style - modern, colorful, upbeat, hopeful, and sultry. I don't know if any of the artists listed above ever composed her in their work. But she simply dominates that realm in my opinion, and easily draws attention to that style for me.

Art Prints of this impressionist portrait are available on my page at Fine Art America, and start at around seventeen bucks!

Big City Girl IX is an impressionist image of Raquel Welch, standing in a city street at sunset. Her tall stature plays against the tall buildings behind her. The style was made famous in the 1960s by artists like Art Fitzpatrick, Van Kaufman, Bob Peak (who also did the famous Apocalypse Now movie poster), Robert McGinnis, and Robert Abbett.

Art prints of Rocky - and many other subjects - are available on my Fine Art America page starting at around $17.00!
