“Your arms are my castle. Your heart is my sky, they wipe away tears that I cry,” plays on the car radio on the way to the downtown Seattle courthouse. Just a Thursday afternoon on a crisp February day, a normal day and yet, somehow a very special day for my two friends.
The yellow fluorescent lights buzzed overhead. The lobby begins to clear as the courthouse hours wind down. We tell stories and giggle in the lobby as we wait.
The paper work was discussed and signed. and eloped surrounded by a few close friends and family, amongst the dusk Seattle cityscape everglow.
“The good and the bad times, we’ve been through the mall. You make me rise when I fall.” In sickness and health, through the good and the bad, vows exchanged and promises made between the two. These moments go so fast yet slow, an effort to take in and be present in the moments.
“Cause every time we touch, I get this feeling. And every time we kiss, I swear I could fly can’t you feel my heartbeat fast? I want this to last. I need you by my side.” This song will always remind me of this day end of Alana’s and Chris’s love. These photos turned out to be some of my favorite photos of the year. Chris and Alana’s connection, chemistry and passion is palpable.
As the year is coming to a close, I am feeling pretty nostalgic. While I didn’t post much here this year, I actually had the privilege of shooting some pretty incredible experiences. These moments echo, carrying me through a crazy year.
