And again the Blooms come.

Delicate reminders to breath, and hold breath.

To stand and stay, if only for a time.

A time that promises to come again.

One day.

My favorite captures from 2025

A lot of my time was spend being introspective, creating pieces that felt personal.

In their own way, they became all consuming.

I've not shared most of my work from this time period.

Above are a few pieces I've been holding onto.

Overflowing with life,

Death overtakes,

radiating with abundance,

Scarcity takes hold,

Unlimited potential,

Finite and fleeting,

An awakening begins,

A final ending.

Greif is a strange creature. She visited this year in the form of loss, as she often does.

I lost my best friend.

Her bones tell tales of love and laughter, an eternal imprint standing against time.

There was never enough time.

I hold her now, in memories and in heart.

She is my sorrow to bear.

I cannot thank Bob enough, his craftsmanship of preservation truly a work of art.

I find myself daydreaming in the past.

Watching waves of time that no longer exist outside of my memories.

A telling sorrow of salted seawater and mist filled mornings.

I am grieving the Death of my reality.

An impending finality to all that I have known.

It feels as though I've been swallowed into the universe, embraced by shadows of possibilities and tragedies.

I am spiraling towards an inevitable end, and there is no escape.

However jarring this experience, I know that it is necessary.

Rebirth awaits.

And so I move forward, through waters stained with sorrows, wading into puddles of hope.

This is greif.

They say drowning is peaceful.

A quite sort of death, swallowed by desperate gulps searching for air.

There's a fullness that enters.

Filling a cavern of sorrows, an emptiness, a space that's persisted since the day of our first breath.

But the wholeness feels wrong.

It burns with desperation. An unsettling and overwhelming despair flooding as fluid fills your lungs.

Perhaps there is a moment when your mind begins to drift.

Flowing outward with thoughts lost in the push and pull of a tide, drawn by forces of nature larger than ones self.

Perhaps drowning is peaceful in this moment.

Common Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare) is an aromatic toxic biennial, originally native to Asia and Europe.

It has become incredibly widespread,  known to push out native plants and disrupt ecosystems. Earning her the title of a class B noxious w**d in Washington state.

This invasive flora presents with plump yellow flowers growing upon stalks that reach up to five feet tall.

As an herbal medicine she has a history of being used as a dewormer, insect repellent, treatment for pain & inflamation when used topically, and to induce menstruation.

Tansy contains thujone, an oil toxic to parasites.

However, its toxic component comes with a dangerous side effect when consumed in large quantities. The worst one leading to death.

Always consult with a knowledgeable professional before attempting to consume a toxic herbal remedy.

What can be found when slowing down, taking time to observe nature and her knowledge. It's incredible the things you learn about w**ds growing along the roadside.

Ferns are a group of ancient, vascular plants that produce spores.

To date there are more than 10,500 known species across our planet. Roughly 40 of them call the Pacific Northwest home.

This incredible plant rooted itself into existence over 300 million years ago, thriving in shady areas with damp, well-draining soil.

Their presence supports a wide variety of wildlife from insects, birds, to mammals of all sizes.

Their foliage drapes across old growth forest, an essential organism established within our landscapes across the Pacific Northwest.
