There's just something about a handmade quilt. 🤍
Maybe it's because every stitch was sewn with love. Maybe it's because you can't help but wonder about all the babies that were rocked to sleep on it, the stories shared beneath it, and the hands that carefully pieced it together years ago.
Many of the quilts I use for these sessions were handmade by my grandma, my great-grandmas, and my husband's grandmas, and great-grandmas. They're some of my most treasured possessions, not because they're perfect, but because they're filled with the love of the families who came before us.
Getting to photograph these little families in the same quilts feels incredibly special. It's a small way of honoring the generations that built our families while preserving the little moments we'll someday look back on with the same full hearts.
Just like these quilts have been treasured and passed down through generations, my hope is that these photographs will be too. They're more than images for today, they're memories for generations to look back on, stories to tell, and little pieces of your family's legacy for those still to come. 🤍
