The Ballenger’s 🖤 Sophie and Cade’s wedding this weekend was hosted in her family’s multi-generational yard. It was so sweet to see their friends and family getting ready surrounded by family photos and so many memories. The whole day was enveloped in love… including the most beautiful colors in the sky as the sun set for the night.

Spent one day of our trip last week hiking/walking down a nearby mountain. We started in rain and sleet (I specifically wasn’t prepared so was very wet), stopped for lunch along the way, and were blown away by the magic of water and cowbells echoing through otherwise silent hillsides. I think my legs still hurt from it. Some digital and film photos 🖤

I’ve been thinking about Hannah and Jack’s wedding a lot recently 😭 One of the sweetest weekends that I got to be deeply part of (a mutual friend picked me up at the airport, I stayed overnight with the bridesmaids in their Airbnb, went to coffee with them, and hung out at the venue reading a book in the sun for a few hours prior to shooting). When I ponder on what “an ideal client” or wedding day looks like for me, Jack and Hannah make it to the short list in a heartbeat 💓

After Pippa and Gus’s ceremony we headed to a park where they had had their first date years before for family and wedding party photos… until about half way through we realized that one of her many siblings had hopped in a car with friends and gone to the reception. So we got to have twice the fun and take family photos again at the reception. After her reception, we opted to head back to the very same park for couples portraits of the two of them at sunset— much closer to the little lake they walked around on their very first date. There is something so special about the layers of story their day allowed for! This post is a collection of some of my favorite little moments from that day.
