Ily and Max’s wedding on Saturday was ethereal and sweet. The weather couldn’t make up its mind as it swapped between sunny, thunderstorms, and even displayed rainbows at sunset. The full storms had cleared right before their ceremony time so they decided at the very last minute to move everything back into place and have their ceremony outdoors in the light drizzle of rain left behind.

I felt as though they could be elves and was trying to lean into that vibe… only to be proven right when they walked down the aisle to the Lord of the Rings theme song.

Ps. The cricket who hopped into her shoe during my flat lay might as well have been a paid actor.

Jo and I have been chatting about doing “in home” family photos with their daughter Emily and Son-in-Law Caleb for probably over a year now. Her garden was finally in full swing for the summer, so we finally spent an evening hanging out at sunset in light rain. There is something so magical about being able to photograph families (like theirs) who are able to experience immense ease and joy in each others company. Family photos don’t have to be stiff and they definitely don’t have to end just because your kids aren’t children anymore 🖤

The Ballenger’s 🖤 Sophie and Cade’s wedding this weekend was hosted in her family’s multi-generational yard. It was so sweet to see their friends and family getting ready surrounded by family photos and so many memories. The whole day was enveloped in love… including the most beautiful colors in the sky as the sun set for the night.
