Seven ghosts, a lake, and one great fall day.

This was Sarah and [GROOM'S NAME] at [VENUE NAME], a fall wedding in Western Massachusetts.

The day had seven people in ghost sheets and heart sunglasses. It had pumpkin barrels and red flower pots down the aisle. And it had a lake behind the portraits. 🍂

I'm Greg, a wedding photographer in Belchertown. I mix candid moments with guided portraits, so you get the goofy stuff and the pictures you'd hang on a wall.

Give Mom a moment before the day gets busy. 🤍

Save your jewelry for last and ask her to help with the finishing touches. You don’t need to look at the camera or know what to do. Just let her be your mom.

Leave a little room in your wedding morning for this. The photos will mean more than you realize.

Sara has known since 2015 that she wanted Greg to photograph her wedding.

On October 17th, 2026, that day finally came.

Sarah and Raphael got married at her brother's home in West Brookfield, MA. A backyard ceremony with 100 guests, three flower girls (two of them their own daughters).

“Working with you and your assistant was the easiest part of the wedding. It was stress-free, you listened to our crazy requests, captured things we didn't think of, and kept the day flowing flawlessly.”

A few seconds of goofing off can make the next photo feel a lot less stiff. 😂

Once everyone’s had a laugh, it’s easier to settle into the posed shots. So if your groomsmen have a ridiculous photo idea, give them a couple of frames.

You might end up framing that one, too.

He didn't know I was shooting yet.

That is what behind-the-scenes photography looks like. Not the portraits. The 30 seconds before I said 'okay, look over here.'

The smile that breaks out when someone across the room says something funny. The way a bridesmaid adjusts a veil without being asked. The groom glancing toward the ceremony space before anyone has told him it is almost time.

These are the frames I am always looking for. They do not happen on command. You have to be watching.

Nobody asked the guests to stand.

September 19 at The Upper Vista log cabin in Western Massachusetts. Eight hours of coverage, start to finish.

This is what that looks like.

No staging. No asking people to look happy. Just Paige and Michael and everyone who showed up to celebrate them.

She was right behind him.

He had no idea.

Paige and Michael chose a first look for September 19 at The Upper Vista log cabin in Western Massachusetts. Michael stood by the fence with his back turned. Paige walked up behind him.

That photo is slide one.

What you can't see in that frame is what came next. His face. Her face. The two of them laughing and holding each other in a garden full of flowers while the rest of the wedding party waited.

They built in 30 minutes of portraits right after. Those are in this carousel too.

The first look is not for everyone. But if you are open to it, it changes the whole shape of your day. You get more time with your partner. Your photographer gets more light. And you both arrive at the ceremony calm.
