Coffee Table Book Fundraiser

SMA Dog Parents! If you live in SMA and have a dog, I am doing a fundraiser to raise money for SMA rescues and NGOs. If you don’t have a dog, you can sponsor a rescue dog in SMA to be in the Book.

I will be in SMA end of March 2026 and will be photographing dogs in front of doors in Centro in SMA for my book Dogs and Doors of San Miguel de Allende. I am a professional photographer for 12 years in Austin, TX and have done multiple book fundraisers for rescues.

If you want to have your dog participate in this book fundraiser and be photographed to be in the book, donate $1720 Peso or $100 USD DIRECTLY to one of the rescue or NGOs below.

You will receive one digital image of your dog in front of the door to print for your own personal use. Books will be available for purchase and the net profit will be donated evenly to the 4 rescue/NGOs.

Thank you for sharing my story of meeting you and my hope. 🐕 “I got to meet Aloka the Peace Dog Saturday after I photographed the homecoming. I have 5 rescued dogs and am a huge rescue supporter. Aloka has inspired the world to adopt a street dog, a shelter dog, a dog at the rescue. I only found out about the Walk for Peace when Aloka’s photo popped up on my feed in December. His story resonated with me because I am a huge rescue supporter and I even adopted a dog from Hawaii when I went on vacation.

So my hope is Aloka will inspire everyone here to adopt a dog when you want a dog, or volunteer at a shelter or rescue, or volunteer to photograph shelter dogs so they can have professional photos to get adopted quicker. I also hope it inspires people to start a program to spay/neuter and rescue street dogs in India, Mexico, or any country where dogs are roaming the streets starving. This is my hope.”

Dear Kim,
Thank you for sharing your beautiful heart and your inspiring hope with us. Your dedication to rescuing dogs, your five rescued companions, and your volunteer work photographing shelter dogs—all of this embodies the compassion that Aloka represents.

Aloka’s journey from the streets of India to walking 2,300 miles for peace has touched millions of hearts. And your hope—that Aloka will inspire people to adopt, to volunteer, to rescue, to create programs that help street dogs everywhere—this is exactly the ripple of compassion we hope this journey creates.

May Aloka’s story continue to inspire kindness toward all beings, especially those who have no voice, no home, and no one to love them. May your hope become reality in the hearts of everyone who has followed this journey.

Thank you for being there, Kim. Thank you for your photographs, your rescue work, and your beautiful, compassionate heart. 🐕💙

🙏 Introducing the Venerable Monk: Venerable Phiyathammoo

From: Wat Than Thong (Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand) | Age: 40

Venerable Phiyathammoo is a Thai Buddhist forest monk who follows a very strict and ascetic lifestyle. As part of that, his clothing reflects deep simplicity and traditional practice rather than modern or ceremonial dress. Patch-worked and worn thin with age, expressing both symbolic and practical simplicity.

From the torn fabric of his robe, it shows his humility and commitment to a life of simplicity. .usa

I got to meet and photograph at the .usa homecoming in Fort Worth on Saturday. Aloka is 4-year-old Indian Pariah dog and former stray who became a viral sensation as the "Peace Dog" while walking thousands of miles with Buddhist monks to promote compassion. Originally joining a 2022, 112-day peace walk in India, Aloka followed the monks, was adopted, and accompanied the monks on a ~2,300-mile journey from Texas to D.C.

Aloka is sweet, loves belly rubs, and toys. I visited him after photographing the Walk for Peace homecoming celebration at the Huong Dao Temple in Fort Worth. He has brought visibility to stray and rescue dogs across the world and his story has inspired people to look into adopting shelter and rescue dogs.

Aloka proudly walks with the Venerable monk Bhikkhu Paññākāra (also known as Sư Tuệ Nhân) across the US on their 2300 mile journey. His smile on the homecoming walk means he knows he is home and ready to play and run around the grounds of the beautiful temple.

Yesterday I had the honor of photographing the homecoming of rh .usa monks to their home in Fort Worth at the temple Huong Dao. It was an incredible experience and capturing the emotional speech by Bhante Pannakara. Photos to come.

If you have been following the .usa monks and their homecoming is Valentine’s Day in Fort Worth at 8am. I have been invited to photograph the temple where Venerable Bhikkhu Pannakara - Su Tue Nhan lives and also the homecoming tomorrow. I am honored to have this opportunity today and tomorrow.
