I’ve met so many babies this year so far + I truly do pinch myself that this is my job still. The job is rewarding, sometimes sleepless, and endlessly fun.

I’m so lucky that I show up to do work I care about in a world that is loud and distracting. For an hour or two, with your babies - the world is quiet and it’s just magic.

This session was perfection. Mom + dad already knew me from their maternity session in the studio so when they arrived for their newborn session, they knew just what to expect from the space and also from me!

Olivia dean playing softly, a calm and eager presence ready to welcome them, someone who will take their time and curate a session that works for them. I always recommend having at least a maternity mini session with me before we do your newborn photos, simply so you can get to know me.

I understand that inviting someone into the newborn bubble that you haven’t met isn’t an easy ask, so do yourself the kindness of taking one stressor away 🫶🏻

Things I hear as a newborn photographer;

“What if my baby comes early or late?”
“What if my baby is fussy during our session and needs to eat?”
“What if older siblings join but don’t cooperate?”
“What if I’m not sure what to wear?”
“What if I don’t feel great on the day of our session? Can we move it?”

I have an answer for all of it and I promise it isn’t as big and scary as it feels. I keep my calendar super light for due dates each month to accommodate changing due dates. Babies have to eat, so we’re in no rush. Siblings can be kooky, we allow it! Styling, I got you! And if you’re not feeling it, we move it. It’s simple and i think it really should feel that way.

I think what draws me so much to storytelling is that it doesn’t feel performative. Lately, the world feels so heavy and so confusing. You don’t know what to believe or what’s true and I would hate for my art to tell an inauthentic story. I’d hate for it to be something else you scroll past that doesn’t feel real or relatable.

So many of us are hoping to do more with our work right now than have clients stare down the barrel of a camera lens and say cheese. We want you to remember holding your babies and your loved ones so close because each other is all we really have.

She is LIVE! I will never be able to thank .creative for the work that she and her team have done to build this project from start to finish. They were mind readers and created something so “me” without ever meeting me in person. What they are able to do is a gift and I’m forever grateful.
