It’s not the what, it’s the why — that’s what drove our creative direction on Til The World Ends, the new song out today from .
Lauren wrote something that holds all the love, angst, bittersweet hope, and regret of being together at the end of the world. She pushed it somewhere that might’ve felt novel a decade ago and lands as eerily prescient today.
Lauren and I both came in with moodboards, mashed them together, and built a world of filmic and photographic content for this song — came in to push the fashion further and help carry the visual story.
The real debate was the cover. We could have chased the apocalypse — the brash, the loud, the churn and whir. But the song isn’t loud. There’s a stillness in the melody, in the questions she’s asking, and the cover had to hold that. White on white. Windswept. A color grade that nods to Lara Lor-Van in Superman’s final hours on Krypton — a mother making the most selfless choice there is, love as the last act before the end. Steady, luminous, unafraid.
