One of my favorite things about photography is helping people celebrate many seasons of life - not just senior year. Recently I had the pleasure of working with Adrianna for her 21st birthday session and it was a fun reminder that you don't need a cap and gown, an engagement ring or a major life event to step in front of the camera.

Celebrating any birthday, starting a new chapter, leaving something behind, reaching a personal goal, or just wanting to express yourself in photos to feel good about yourself - those are all reasons enough to schedule a portrait session + preserve those moments.
I
love creating images that tell your story, no matter the occasion or even if there isn't one at all. If you want to remember this season of your life - shoot me a message - we can create something really special to honor exactly where you are in life right now. The possibilities are endless ...

He came back to the family farm and found a box of old photographs tucked away in a closet. Pictures from when he was 17, just about to start his senior year in high school. His grandparents were still inside the house, porch light still glowed in the evening the same way it always had - a quiet signal that someone was home, someone was waiting. Brought back such warm feelings.

His brother had come back from college, and together they spent the evening laughing and fooling around with their grandfathers old car, the one that had become part of the family story long before either of them could drive. For a little while it felt like no time had passed at all.

Looking through those photographs, he noticed that soft haze that covered every image. The colors were faded, the edges imperfect. Maybe thats what memory does - maybe the past looks cinematic because we only remember the highlights - the summer evenings, the music in the background, the friends, the feeling that life moved a little slower than it does now.

He saw something else in those photos too. The way he stood. The way his hands rested at his sides, just like his dad does. He could walk down any local street now and someone would say - boy I know who your dad is, you walk just like him.
It’s funny how photographs preserve more than faces. They hold gestures, habits, and pieces of people we don’t realize we’re becoming until years later. There was something comforting about standing there, surrounded by old memories and familiar voices drifting through the house. A reminder that simpler times doesn’t have to be gone. They live on in stories, in family, in old cars parked in barns, and in photographs that somehow remember things we’ve forgotten. And maybe that’s why we’re grateful they were taken in the first place.

Class of 2027 I am so excited to get the chance to work with you. Your senior portrait session should be fun, creative and a reflection of who you are and where you’ve come from. Your photos don’t have to live on your phone and exist solely on social media apps for everyone just to witness now. Your senior photos will one day be something you look back on to remember who you were, what clothes you wore, what music you listened to. Photos to share with your children and their children.
I would love to help you tell your story…something that will last for generations to come. Visit the link below for more info and get set up!

Picture it - the summer of 1988.

A teenage girl standing on the edge of senior year, with a few more months of freedom stretched out like an endless country road. The days were hot, the nights were warm, and the only real plan was to make the most of every single moment.
The radio was always turned up loud. Trucks kicked up dust on back roads. Friends gathered wherever there was room to park - views of beautiful mountains and sunsets. The soundtrack of summer drifted through open windows while laughter could be heard across fields, gravel roads and hilltops.

There were sunsets from the tailgate, late night conversations under the stars, and the feeling that life was just beginning. No schedules, no obligations - just long days filled with adventure, music, friendship and the kind of memories that would stay with you forever.

For teens about to start their senior year, summer isn't just a season - it's a gathering and a preparation. A possibility. One last stretch of carefree days before stepping into their next chapter.
Of course it isn't 1988 - that was a simpler time. But theres no reason to forget that you can take times out of your day to live a simpler life. Ditch the phone, take a joyride, listen to music, enjoy your family + friends. Be grateful for your youth - and get excited about your future!

There are a lot of things to plan for senior and I hope both teens + parents enjoy every step of this milestone together. I would love to share in that with you in senior portraits and record all of these special moments with you! We can do something amazing!
