Today is National Best Friends Day, and looking through these photos from the archives has my heart feeling so incredibly full. One of the absolute greatest privileges of my life, and a deeply personal goal of mine, is getting to step behind the lens to witness and document the immense talent within my circle of friends. I am always so excited and happy to see the people I care about doing what they love, and I love getting to be their ultimate cheerleader from behind the camera.

Getting to see them completely in their element, doing what they love most, is an unforgettable experience. I am constantly in complete awe of the gifts my friends share with the world, and I feel completely honored and incredibly lucky to capture them on stage.

It is also such a huge honor when a close friend steps into the director’s seat and trusts me to collaborate with them. Being able to photograph a production that a dear friend poured their heart into directing and planning is a highlight I will cherish forever.

There is nothing quite like witnessing firsthand the pure happiness and passion they all pour into their craft, whether they are performing under the lights or creating the magic from the wings. I love being able to share that light and show the world just how remarkably talented they are. Freezing these moments so they can look back on, hold onto, and cherish them for years to come is precisely why I fell in love with photography in the first place.

To the amazing friends pictured here who constantly inspire me: thank you for letting me witness your journeys, for trusting me to capture your moments, and for letting me be the one cheering the loudest for you. I am beyond honored by your friendship, and swiping through this lineup just reminds me how beautiful it is to watch the people you love shine so brightly. 💜✨

Love is such a quiet architecture.

It’s built in the softest touch and the steady strength of a hand that just never lets go. Motherhood really is an art form made of a thousand tiny, selfless acts. It is holding the future right in the palm of your hand.

Wishing a beautiful and peaceful Mother’s Day to all of you today. 🩷

The only acceptable Friday exit if you ask me. 😉Cheers to the weekend!

Happy (early) World Theatre Day to the creators and the visionaries! I’m getting the celebration started a bit ahead of schedule before the weekend completely takes over. 🥂✨

There’s an energy in a theater that you just can’t find anywhere else. I’ve always felt at home in that world, but something shifted the second I became the one tasked to capture it. It took one night with a camera in my hand at Beavercreek Community Theatre, after a colleague-turned-family asked me to photograph their show, to realize exactly how those two worlds fit together. I already knew my way around a stage, but in that darkness, something clicked. I went from just “knowing the world” to “I will literally fight for this lighting cue” in a single night.

Fast forward to now, and I’m completely hooked. Photographing a show is its own kind of dance. I spend my nights in the shadows, watching for those raw, unscripted moments between the lines. I am constantly in awe of the artistry, from the sets and lighting to the incredible talent of the cast. Theatre has this electric power to bind us together, and being trusted to capture those fleeting moments is a dream I never knew I had. Whether I’m in a dark corner of the wings or finding a weird spot in the house for the perfect shot, I’m endlessly inspired by what I see through my lens.

Beyond the art, I am so grateful for the people. I’ve met so many friends in this world, and I’m always eager to see the stories our local theaters bring to life next. To the storytellers and dreamers: Thank you for building worlds that remind us what it feels like to be human. The arts are the pulse of our community, and they need our support to keep telling the stories that bridge the gaps between us.

Thank you for letting me tell your stories from the best seat in the house. Here is to the moments that happen in the dark and the stories that bring them to light. 🥂📸✨

Happy Opening Night to the cast and crew of The Glass Menagerie! 🎭✨

There is a haunting beauty in the world Tennessee Williams created, and it was a gift to be behind the lens to capture it. I have been a guest at the Dayton Playhouse to watch shows in the past, so I felt honored when my amazing and talented friend asked if I could photograph his show. It felt incredibly special for this to be my very first official production shoot on this stage.

Matt has directed something truly special that is equal parts raw and fragile. I was deeply moved by the heart poured into every detail. This show is truly about “the fragility, the longing and the quiet beauty” of a world that can break at any moment.

I am in awe of the work from every department. From the powerhouse performances on stage to the incredible world built by the scenic, lighting, costume, and sound designers, the collaboration here is truly special. To the stage management and backstage crew who keep the magic moving behind the scenes, you should all be so incredibly proud.

The show runs from March 13- 22 only at the . Go get your tickets and support the incredible local theatre happening in our community! 🕯️💙

Sometimes, the most profound "I love you" isn't spoken. It is held in the space between two people. 🌙✨

In Bright Star, Alice Murphy (Adee McFarland) and Jimmy Ray (Timothy Macuski) find a connection that the rest of the world tries to tear apart. Their story reminds us that love isn’t always easy or simple. It is often a quiet, defiant "us against the world" moment in the dark that has to last a lifetime.

While today is all about roses and sweets, I’ve always been drawn to this deeper side of romance. I look back at these photos from Beavercreek Community Theatre in 2023 as some of my favorites because they capture the weight of a bond that refuses to fade.

Growing up Deaf, I learned to look for the unspoken: the tension in a shoulder, the way a hand rests, or the pulse you can feel in the stillness. To me, that raw intensity is the most beautiful way to say "I'm here" and the most profound form of connection there is.

So here is to the big leaps and the bonds that never fade.

Happy Valentine’s Day to the ones who find the kind of love that makes the noise fade away and brings light to the deepest shadows. 💛

Earlier this month, I had the privilege of photographing Eurydice at Beavercreek Community Theatre. It’s been a wild ride. We all know how nasty that winter storm was last week! With over 13 inches of snow shutting things down, the cast and crew had to postpone their final performances.

But you can’t keep a story this good underground forever. 😉

You have ONE LAST CHANCE to see this production tomorrow, February 1st at 3 PM! Tickets may be limited as many were moved from the original date, so grab yours at bctheatre.org right away before they’re gone.

I loved capturing this show. The set design is breathtaking with immersive elements you have to see in person, and the lighting is incredibly atmospheric. The cast is purely talented. They handle the humor perfectly, but the emotional scenes are what stay with you. I even found myself tearing up while reliving those moments during the editing process.

Please come out and support local theatre! It is truly a beautiful show that deserves a full house for its final bow. Swipe through for a glimpse of the incredible world they built. 📸

Checking in! It’s been a little quiet on here since December, but for a good reason. I’ve been deeeeeep in the 'editing cave' lately. Between some really special year-end shoots and a fun theatre session just last week, my screen has been full of some incredible moments. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on. 🤫

I’ve also been taking some time to step out of my comfort zone recently. A friend encouraged me to try something totally new that put me on the other side of the creative process for once. I had absolutely zero experience with this, but taking that leap was such a rewarding experience. It reminded me how important it is to challenge yourself with things that feel a little scary sometimes. It gave me a much deeper appreciation for the arts and a better understanding of what it feels like to be on the other side of the lens. 🎭

It’s been a great reminder that there is always something new to learn when you’re willing to put yourself out there. I’m starting 2026 feeling so inspired to capture your stories with this fresh perspective. Back to the desk now to keep the gallery magic moving! ✨

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and father figures — especially the ones who know how to handle a little drama.

I’ve been flipping through my photo archives lately, thinking about shows I’ve photographed that touched on father-daughter relationships — and Die Mommie Die kept coming to mind. It’s campy, chaotic, and full of wild twists… but underneath all that drama, there’s a complicated (and oddly tender?) father-daughter dynamic at its core.

These shots feature Edith (Amber Todd) and Sol (Becky Howard) — the iconic daughter-father duo from Die Mommie Die at Beavercreek Community Theatre. Let’s just say… it’s not your average Hallmark moment. 😅

But whether your family is full of plot twists or just dad jokes, here’s to the ones who show up, love hard, challenge us, confuse us, and leave a lasting impact (hopefully with less emotional damage than this script).
