So I haven’t shared what’s going on for a while. I have accepted a temporary job at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School working as their photography instructor.
I have to say I really love it. There is just something about seeing the kids grow daily in an art form that bridges over many aspects. From the principles of photography, digital photography, yearbook photography, and even the fine art of film (dark room). Not only does it challenge them, but it has also challenged me to take a step back and really break down my own process from the most simplistic form.
I look forward to going to school to see these kids excelling at something that excites them! I look forward to even seeing their failures knowing that this is par for the course. They learn and they come back better. It’s so cool to see that.
Anyways, I wanted to share a couple really cool photos I took. This type of photography is called Solargraphy (Long exposure capturing the Sun’s ecliptic). It’s literally the most basic form of a camera. You need three things to capture a picture…Light, Aperture, and a Photosensitive medium. I made these photos using a pop can. 😎
