What a great day it was not only getting to see some amazing old friends, but also getting to witness the beauty of the Sabine Ranch!

Callie, Christian and my family met nearly 20 years ago while we all lived in Houston. And somehow all these years later, we ended up in close proximity yet again!

The Sabine Ranch is an over 12 thousand acre protected property of wetlands and marshlands located near Port Arthur that is a part of The Conservation Fund and Mcfaddin Wildlife Refuge. Callie has worked for The Conservation Fund since 2016, and in 2018 she, her husband and fur babies moved to the Sabine Ranch as Callie took on the role as the new onsite manager.

The ranch as well as Callie and Christian’s home located on the property took a devastating direct hit by an F3 tornado back in December of 2024, and seeing the growth and the love that has gone into bringing the Ranch back to full function was an incredible thing to see. 🤍
