My Story
Hello, My name is Phil and I am the sole proprieter of BeaufortPics here in Beaufort S.C. I’m originally from Arlington Va and left home in 1982 after enlisting in the U.S. Marines. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2005 after 23 years of service and obtained the rank of Master Sergeant. I was first stationed in Beaufort from 1987-1990. Ever since I left in 1990 I had tried to get stationed here again but it took 12 years for me to return. The worst thing you can do is let the Marine Corps know where you want to be stationed. This normally results in being shipped to the opposite side of the country as it did for me, time after time. I have lived in Beaufort ever since and have no plans of ever leaving.
I currently work in Savannah Ga @Gulfstream Aerospace and in my spare time, I do photography, primarily Landscape photography. I opened my first fine art gallery in March of 2015 on Port Republic Street. It was a tough two years before I was able to find the perfect location on Bay Street and in March of 2017, I finally made the move to 719 Bay Street.
I am self taught in photography. I never took a class on it or mentored under anyone. I first got into digital photography in 2013 when I purchased a Canon T1i. After practicing on it for a year or so, I then purchased a Canon 5D Mark III along with several Canon L series lenses. Recently I purchased a few more lenses and a Canon 5DS R which I love. Its a 50 megapixel camera which is perfect for landscape photography.
Anytime you are in Beaufort, feel free to stop in my gallery on Bay street even if its just to say hello or talk photography. If your not a local you can still visit my web site at www.BeaufortPics.com and make a purchase or my page. All of my photographs you see on my page are available for purchase on either Canvas or Fine Art prints. I look forward to hearing from you all. Phil
