The energy at the historic newly refurbished Biloxi Saenger Theatre was electric, curtesy of Good Earth Records and , along with Joshua Starkman, Craig Klein, Wendell Brunious Project, River Eckert, Blackwater Brass, and many others who came out to work their magic!

celebrated the life of yet another beloved musician, Ronell Johnson, famed Preservation Hall Band trombonist/vocalist/performer, gone too soon. Everything here happens on the streets y'all, and it was a great turnout on a glorious day! I still consider myself a tourist, in my seventh year here, but I have never seen so much brass in a second line. All horn players came out to celebrate their brother 🎺🪊🎷💔 Tuba to Cuba just got bookmarked again, along with other live performance clips. Grateful to have been on this planet at the same time ❤️ Please tag and share pics.

As a life long cyclist myself, the message behind the World Naked Bike Ride events has always hit home. After a lifetime of near misses with vehicles, the "can you see us now" (if we are naked) tagline never loses its impact! I had the accidental honor this year of riding shotgun, while shooting for the French Quarter Journal. Crowds were already lining up for the Pride Parade which followed. Three amazing women singer songwriters brought their special songs to the historic 100 Men D.B.A. Hall stage - Dusky Waters Teena May and Symone French. Waters and May are the founders of BlackAmericana Fest in New Orleans, which takes place in September. It is African American Music Appreciation Month and this Freedom Summer Concert in the historic Chitlin Circuit venue called to the ancestors whose history and blessings were palpable!
