Event season is heating back up. I’ve been shooting more events lately. Here is one from the spring for the LDS Group that’s a little different as far as annual corporate banquets go. They play carnival games for a chance to win extra money and prizes.

Some events give me an opportunity to try to elevate it with the lighting and get a little creative with the camera settings.

After a couple rounds of the games I do some slow shutter shots with the darts and spinning wheel.

Also with such a relatively dark space it would be practically impossible to shoot or freeze the action without use of flash.

When I shoot Senior pictures I keep in my the 3 S’s: Smile, Serious, and Silliness.

It’s important to try to capture how they are in this transitional point in time, offer some variety, and show off some personality.

I have ways of pulling candid moments out of them that practically always work. And those often make the most treasured photos.

If you’re looking to get senior photos done this year let’s talk.

TBT to this foggy night downtown back in 2018.

I had gone to a Christmas party that night in mid city and fortunately brought my camera with me.

The stopped train made it even more eerie feeling.

From the 9/11 memorial in NYC taken a couple years ago. Practically every American alive can tell you exactly where they were at the moment they found out about it.

I do miss the unity we all felt that resulted from it that unfortunately didn’t last very long.

Fall is fast approaching (hopefully) and that’s my favorite time to get your outdoor portraits made.

The Rice family and their extended family color coordinated well to go with these warm autumn tones.

Reach out to me to book a spot.

Sidenote: I’ll be launching a new website soon. Stay tuned.

Louisiana attorney general Attorney General Liz Murrill photographer at her office a couple years ago. She was in the news today on a big nationwide case today representing LSU and the state vs. SEC officials.

Kinda sick of all this legal talk and all the misinformation out there lately and ready for some football this weekend.

Some fun notable assignments for Country Roads Magazine going back the past 5 years.

The first 2 images ended up being cover shots.

The first one features my neighbors and my daughter in it.

That day of the mountain bike shoot from Bogue Chitto State Park happened to be the day of my Bachelor party right before my wedding and my little brother was in town to assist me on the shoot. Those trails out there are next level.

Spending a day with John Folse at his White Oak Estate and Gardens and hearing the stories about his career was a real treat.

And lastly going down to the coast on a story about the ongoing efforts to mitigate Coastal Erosion was an adventure.

That’s one of the major benefits of doing what I do is the access - meeting people I rarely would get to meet, going through doors most people don’t get to go, and learning about other people’s jobs keeps the days never boring.

One of my oldest clients Leslie | Local Business Marketing Coach for Service Providers, not by her age of course, but since we started working together.

Here’s a mix of some fun shots we’ve done at some different spots around town including her home office - going back to 2017.

She was a client first and then I became her client when I joined her Localpreneur Academy. It’s mostly geared towards women owned small businesses but I was welcomed in. I took one Marketing 101 class in college and that was the extent of my formal business training going into starting my own business in 2021 so I turned to Leslie for some help.
