🌊 BLUE BAYOU IS OFFICIALLY REOPENING THIS WEEKEND
After sitting closed for the entire 2025 season, Blue Bayou is finally opening its gates again this weekend following a major round of renovations and infrastructure upgrades.
Park officials say much of the work happened behind the scenes, including repairs, maintenance, underground improvements, upgraded systems, landscaping, internet installation, and other changes focused on making the park cleaner, safer, and more family-friendly heading into summer.
While there are no brand-new rides being added this season, management says future expansion and additional attractions are possible in the coming years. The new operators say their goal is to restore Blue Bayou as a regional summer destination for families across Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette, and surrounding areas.
A few of the updated features for 2026 include:
• Free unlimited fountain drinks
• Free inner tubes and life jackets
• Smart lockers
• New online ticket pricing system
• Continued renovations throughout the property
Blue Bayou officially opens Saturday, May 16 and will operate on weekends before expanding hours deeper into summer. The park says it plans to remain open through Labor Day weekend.
For a lot of Baton Rouge families, this place was basically a summer tradition growing up… so seeing it back open again is definitely going to bring some nostalgia this weekend.
